Do you get any personalised gifts for DC?

If so what type of things?

Yes got tree decorations, mugs and an apron each.

Youseethethingis · 28/11/2020 19:00

I’ve got DS a personalised wooden wind up music box and a Christmas booo with his name on.
Don’t think I would get a big toy like a wooden garage, that sort of thing, personalised as harder to either pass on or sell on then. Sticking with small keepsake type gifts.

Youseethethingis · 28/11/2020 19:01

Christmas book, not booo 👻Grin

Wildrobin · 28/11/2020 22:44

I got personalised Sets of pencils for stockings one year

Diverseduvet · 28/11/2020 22:46

Never, hate them. They know their names and what belongs to them without personalisation.

bubblebubblebubbletrouble · 28/11/2020 22:53

Usually I get something - books, colouring pencils & nameplate for their door.
This year I've ordered them dressing table organiser boxes from etsy.
They like it & it stops the bickering over what belongs to whom.

truthlemon · 28/11/2020 23:20

Bought them both a personalised Star Wars keyring from Etsy.

DelurkingAJ · 28/11/2020 23:32

Pencils as they’re now having to take their own to school. Agree that I have considered it with other things to avoid arguments...

MissDoLots · 28/11/2020 23:40

Tomato ketchup and Nutella!

Wildrobin · 29/11/2020 03:39

Marmite can be personalised too and looks very cool!

DramaAlpaca · 29/11/2020 03:44

No. It's not my thing at all.

A friend made us each a personalised Christmas tree bauble one year and we love them, but that's as far as it goes.

Sunfl0wer20 · 29/11/2020 06:36

I’ve bought my 4 yr old a super Mario cushion with his name on it. He is going to go wild for it!

CheckMyLeftPhalange · 29/11/2020 07:38

@Diverseduvet

Never, hate them. They know their names and what belongs to them without personalisation.
I’m not sure they’re being marketed for people who are unsure of their name. Is this your take on naming school uniform too? Named things for siblings are great. Named pens and pencils for school are genius!
Iseeyoulookingatme · 29/11/2020 07:56

I get a personalised Christmas decoration most years and this year I've bought ds a leather bookmark with his initials on.

TrickyD · 29/11/2020 08:00

Following a recommendation in here for AccentCulture, I bought bracelets for DGD, plus some earrings that spell her name. Nicely made, not expensive and fast delivery from the US despite being made to order and far quicker than some UK firms such as The Perfume Shop.

AlwaysLatte · 29/11/2020 08:12

My 10 year old loves dippy eggs so we got him a personalised board with egg holder on it. Other gifts have been photo snowglobes with pic of the dog (from the dog!) photo mouse mats for their laptops and photo mugs. Also when they were very little wood jigsaws with their full names.

lanbro · 29/11/2020 08:14

I get them a personalised bauble each for the tree every year and this year have bought a personalised santa stop here sign...my friend makes personalised items so am supporting her business plus my girls have uncommon names so could never buy off the rack

AlwaysLatte · 29/11/2020 08:14

Oh yes I got the quality street tins this year (not arrived yet). DS12 loves toffee pennies (and nothing else is QS) and is always grumbling that there are hardly any. So he has a personalised tin with 100% those in this year!

lanbro · 29/11/2020 08:15

I rarely had anything personalised because I also have an uncommon name, and it wasn't so easy nearly 40 years ago so love how easy it is these days!

LunaHardy · 29/11/2020 08:23

A mug with a space for biscuits at the bottom. He loves tea and biscuits so I thought he would love this.

Stompythedinosaur · 29/11/2020 18:29

Yes. I had a name that was unusual when I was young so could never have personalised things, so I make up for it by getting things for my dc.

This year I have got them personalised wash bags for going on sleepovers, and have got some name necklaces for their stocking.

neddle · 29/11/2020 18:40

@MojoJojo71
If you’re going to get one of those, then shop around. I’ve seen them personalised on the tummy with embroidery for only £20.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 29/11/2020 18:50

@MojoJojo71

It's gorgeous!!

I'd love one with the bunny's name on it, not mine!

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 29/11/2020 18:50

Yes, not every year, but odd bits over the years.
