Christmas and 28th December birthday

So DS will be 4 on the 28th of December.
I should have the birthday Christmas routine down by now but this year is the first year he understands.

So what do you do?
Should I split down the middle or more for one than the other?
Also how many presents do you buy for your children?
He is an only child😂

Gosh. I imagine that’s pretty difficult. I have 3 major family birthdays in December but they are before Christmas - expensive but at least you get Christmas as a reprieve.
I should imagine it’s tricky making a birthday “bigger” than Christmas which is what most people get from their day. Personally I would trim Christmas back to a stocking and a few presents under the tree from relatives and make his birthday the main present event.
I would also prepare myself for a big kids party the weekend after school goes back every year.Decorations will be down and he can have a fun party just for him.
