10 and 13 year old boys who want nothing!

DH’s nephews are always hard to buy for, we always ask for ideas from them/their parents and they always struggle to come up with stuff. This year they have asked for gaming vouchers only. I have this rule where everyone has to have at least 3 presents to open! So I need some silly little bits to add in. I have no clue as I don’t have kids and they are not helping, I don’t even mind if it’s something silly they use/play with once and then forget about, that’s half the point of Xmas! They will be getting the vouchers, so this is just a couple of little ‘openers’. They are 10 and 13, massively into gaming and not much else! What are you getting your boys of this age for silly little stocking fillers?

Why?

Bikingbear · 24/11/2020 15:42

Being mindful of the planet, don't buy plastic tat that's going straight in bin.

Put vouchers in a box, Socks, pants, soap on rope, bobble heads, face covering, personalised dairy milk, mug, books,

Rollingfog · 24/11/2020 15:42

Magic eightball, fart cushion, sweets, EarPods, grooming products, I’m struggling with same kind of ages.

GooseberryTart · 24/11/2020 15:54

Depends on budget and interests, chocolate, chocolate shaped something or other, Dirty hair gel from Lush, smellies i.e. deodorant, sports socks, squeezie thing or moon ball, football, basketball, ask mum for a brand of t shirts they like, light for bedroom, pen, Rubbick cube (probably spelled it wrong), joke book for younger child, unusual money box etc.

PinkJam · 24/11/2020 16:09

Selection box and socks

SillyOldMummy · 24/11/2020 16:11

Friars.co.uk for chocolate gaming controller and chocolate football kit

Wish or teepublic.com for cheap gaming TShirts

Etsy UK - GiftsByKellyH has a cool decal for your bedroom that says "eat sleep game"with a pic of a playstation controller. Something like that can be quite cheap and cool, if you shop around a bit.

DianaT1969 · 24/11/2020 16:14

Assuming your 3 gifts each rule isn't plastic tat that gets thrown away before Jan 1. My nephews at that age liked chocolate, books, nice deodorant, a football, good quality foaming face cleanser, socks.

Bettina500 · 24/11/2020 16:20

If you must get something then get something they can actually use or something edible. I have DC this age who, apart from their main present, just want vouchers and I'm having to battle well meaning family who keep insisting they need something to open. They really don't, and it's wasteful for all concerned.

Possums4evr · 24/11/2020 16:52

I wish my 13 year old was into deodorant, soap or face wash!

Mumdiva99 · 24/11/2020 16:56

My 13 year old is similar. He has instant noodles, pop tarts, tooth brush, chocolate, book etc etc

He's also getting facewash @Possems4evr - when asked he didn't want to waste a present on that sort of stuff!!! But I want him to use it.....lol.

TheRubyRedshoes · 24/11/2020 17:40

Robert dyas had good deals on metal detector and telescope like 14.

winesolveseverything · 24/11/2020 17:58

I have a 10 year old...

He would love...

A mug with some hot chocolate sachets, hot choc spoons (Tesco have some for £3) or a mug cake mix sachet..

PJs, socks, pants or a t shirt- you can get gaming themed ones...

Bubble bath or shower gel.

Edible stuff- M&S do a range of slightly less everyday cookies and sweets/chocolate.

A cool key ring or lanyard for locker keys etc.

Stationery- pens/pencils, cool highlighters, themed notepads (check out The Works)

Water bottle

Small calendar for his room.

If their school is like DD's they'd appreciate anything thermal! Insoles, fingerless gloves, those little hand warmers that you boil to recharge.

Big bag of Haribo?

Pinotwoman82 · 24/11/2020 18:35

Superdry bath stuff, hot chocolate, football annual, a football

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 24/11/2020 18:38

My DS got a pop corn machine last year which he loves. Perhaps something for them to share could work.

Minesril · 24/11/2020 21:48

T-shirt or socks based on their favourite game?

LadyCatStark · 24/11/2020 23:10

Novelty gaming socks and chocolate: sorted!

Mustbethewine · 24/11/2020 23:17

To open you could get some lounge wear, mugs, slippers, socks, headphones stand. You can also get plaques and posters/wall art that says gamer in progress. If you put gamer gifts in ebay you can get a lot of fun things

Misty9 · 25/11/2020 00:00

T-shirt with their favourite gaming character/logo on is always good. Try character.com for decent quality and quick delivery. My 9yo doesn't really want anything and I'm trying to encourage family to not buy random stuff he won't take a blind bit of notice of. I don't even know what to get him!

mam0918 · 25/11/2020 13:05

I 2nd the fart cushions or rubber chickens (kids love them, yes they are a bit 'tat' but they have never been thrown away and are treasured by my kids)

also popular is american candy

NeverTwerkNaked · 29/11/2020 11:28

Who are all these 10 year old boys that like soap?! Our 10 year olds howl like they are being tortured if we so much as suggest they should have a bath!

WindUpBird · 29/11/2020 11:50

Do you know what food they’re into? Could you get them a hamper/decorated cardboard box of:cookbook, utensils & ingredients? For DS,13, who loves Wagamama's, I’m getting him a ramen cook book, bowls, spoons & some Japanese/Korean seasoning. Or: you could get donut moulds with a recipe book & some ingredients/toppings. Or burger press, pickles & condiments etc...

DeepfriedPizza · 29/11/2020 11:54

I’ve got 2 Nephews the same age and are only into gaming and playing football. I got them a face mask with their favourite football team logo on it, a board game and a selection box.

Passthecake30 · 30/11/2020 13:11

Chilly bottle, screen friendly gloves, chocolate, Pringles, hot chocolate bombs.
