Recommendations for board games for two.

Can anyone recommend fun board games that can be played with just two?

DH and I are going to be alone this Christmas and I’d love to play some fun board games but virtually everything I look at is for a minimum of three or four players. We often play scrabble,Word Yahtzee or Boggle but I’m trying to find something other than a word game. Something a bit silly we can have a laugh over would be great.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

There was a good thread a few days ago but I didn't save it. I did buy Jaipur off the back of it.

We like ticket to ride (Nordic edition), 7 wonders duel, codenames duet, pandemic - the last two are collaborative so no sore losers involved!

Exploding Kittens is great fun and can be a 2 player game.

Labyrinth is good for two. Bananagrams works. We also love zombie dice, though that's a pretty short one!

All of the above plus Lost Cities, Carcassonne, 221B Baker Street, any of the Ticket to Ride although we like Europe best.

Patchwork, carcassonne.

Dobble , the packaging looks childish but it's not just for kids and it gets quite addictive .

Can't suggest games for adults but I think this website, Zatu games, is good for buying from - I have got kids ones from them

@Parkandride - DH and I used to enjoy playing Pandemic but it doesn’t seem quite so much fun anymore!

Fluxx and Rummikub better with 4, IMO. Agree Zatu is a good place to buy, and boardgamegeek is a great resource for reviews and info. DH and I play:

Agricola
Caverna
Viticulture
Carcasonne
Catan (2 player card game)
Patchwork
Jaipur
Hive
Backgammon
Bezique
Cribbage

I'm watching this as there's only 3 of us - DH, me and DS 12 - he enjoys rummy but sometimes feels that we are hanging up on him (having more experience of playing/strategy's)

I would love to know of above &any future suggestions games that would work for us - I see Dobble mentioned a lot but have never played it

I'm hoping to find something fun that will appeal to all of us that whilst not better than him being allowed extra time on his Plsystation DH & I would also enjoy (DH and I are pre Gamer generation Grin)

DS did enjoy watching the RaceAcross the World programme on BBC

Carcassonne and ticket to ride are our lockdown favourites (no kids so just the two of us!

Can recommend Qwirkle - not word based, I just got it cheap from fb and my 10 yr old beat me fair & square.
