Buying an Alexa Echo for my parents

My mum has been saying she would like one as she knows we use ours a lot. If I get one for them, how much can I set it up for them? I presume they have an Amazon account and wouldn't want it to be linked to our account but I'm worried that if restrictions aren't lifted that trying to set it up for them over the phone will be a nightmare 😩
Many thanks

Should say I would also want to put Amazon music on it for them so they don't have to pay for this themselves, can it be done? Thanks

They are good.

It depends if they can download apps and so on.
My son helped my mum set hers up long distance, I'll ask him when he comes home from work.

It's very very easy to set up, they download the app onto their phone and it talks you through the instructions. It comes with a month free trial of Amazon music but not sure if you can get that on their behalf. If you're thinking of getting them the echo dot I'd look at the availability on Amazon, mine was showing as not in stock until early January but I got one from Argos at the same price to be collected Nov 29th

They may not need the music subscription, might be happy with radio.
