as their main present or will they disappointed

DCs 8 and 7 - both believe Father Christmas chooses their Christmas Presents and they get to choose their Birthday Presents.

Therefore no lists, pestering or expectations, just whatever I fancy buying them. But I need your help, would your DCs be disappointed with these, particularly as it probably won't snow until January/February time.

no, don't buy them. They'll only be disappointed if it doesn't snow and they don't get to use them

It said in the paper yesterday that somebody reckoned there was a 55% chance of a white Christmas in the north and east and 40% chance elsewhere.

Another report has said it will be a bit colder but a bit drier than last winter.

Problem is that even if it does snow it probably won't last for more than a day or two and there is no guarantee that your children will be able to have time off school - unless you live in N. Scotland anyway.

It is a lovely idea for a present but I think unless you can use it one grass (sorry I didn't read it properly) you aren't going to get much use out of it.

Nice move, getting FC to chose their presents though - I wish had thought of that!

A white Christmas would be lovely (could buy them on spec ...) I'm desperate to get them really. We are just about to move to a new house at the very top of a hill with woods at the back and to one side and the two huge commons (with big hills) just over the road. Even the slighted amount of snow and we'll be snowed in - and they know already that they'll get the day off school if it snows, so the opportunity is there.

But if it doesn't snow this year I'll have two very disappointed children.
