My ds (13) smashed his phone whilest out playing football yesterday, Ive got him a newer phone for his christmas, do i give him it early for let him be phoneless for 5 weeks

I’d leave him without for 5 weeks. Might make him be more careful in future, and means you still get to give him a great present on the actual Christmas Day.

Give home a ten pound basic phone for contact purposes of required.

Definitely wait to Christmas but agree a £10 dumb phone for if you really need to contact him.

Buy a second hand phone you should be able to sell it for a similar amount in Jan.
