I have a very fussy 13 yr DS who need a christmas jumper for school. He is sooooo fussy about what he considers 'cool'..:. nothing i find is acceptable.
He is 5ft 8 and wears an adult S-M

Any suggestions? Supermarket jumper will not be OK!

What is your budget?
John Smedley have a gorgeous "Nicholas" jumper in, it's £195, but delivery is free!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 21/11/2020 19:56

Have you tried H&M?

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 21/11/2020 19:57

£195 for a chrisas jumper 🤣 wtf!

Littlemissnutcracker · 21/11/2020 19:58

Placemarking to help out.

I bought my son one from the ladies section in Primark. Its green with a baby yoda and say something like 'A very cute Christmas' he loves it and wears it loads.

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/11/2020 20:14

Anything appeal from Merchoid?

CathyorClaire · 21/11/2020 20:16

Give him a budget and send him shopping. He's plenty old enough to track one down for himself.

I got 14 yr old one from ASOS this year, it has llamas on it...

Are you sure he "needs" one? My DSs' secondary always had Christmas jumper days but neither of mine ever wore a Christmas jumper. The closest they got was a red or green hoody but even that stopped after yr8 and they preferred to go in school uniform.

Bunnybigears · 21/11/2020 20:21

Does he have to wear one, my achingly cool 13 year old boy does not participate in my of the dressing up things, he doesnt do Christmas jumper day, Jeans for Genes day, Children in Need, Odd Socks for anti bullying. You name it he is too cool to do it.

FundamentallyFucked · 21/11/2020 20:29

Fuck that. A jumper to wear once. It would be supermarket or fuck all here.

Lots of character jumpers in ASDA btw. DS has picked a STAR WARS one.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 21/11/2020 20:35

Isn't the whole point of a Christmas jumper is that they are the best definition of uncool?

it's his first year in this school so i think he feels he needs one but might take it off!!!

Yep. DS is desperate for the Lidl one as he thinks it's so awful that it's great Grin

Maybe set him a budget and get him to find one he would be happy with but I can pretty much guarantee he will either take it in his bag and never put it on or he will take it off soon after arriving.

Littlemissnutcracker · 21/11/2020 21:24

Omg the lidl jumpers and trainers.. I looked in the magazine and said who on earth will buy these GrinGrinGrin

UndertheCedartree · 21/11/2020 21:31

To be honest my 13yo wouldn't been seen dead in a Christmas jumper! I'm suprised they have Christmas jumper day in secondary as I'm sure lots wouldn't want to wear them. My DD's primary doesn't even do it as they wouldn't want parents to fork out for something specific - especially if it may only be worn for one day! They just have non-uniform day on the last day of term and any one that wants to can wear a Christmas jumper then.

My DS prefers a heist as T-shirt - I either buy from Primark or Next depending on design - after the no uniform school day wear he tends to wear on Christmas Day and then as lounge/bed wear

mamawithfive · 22/11/2020 12:29

My son is 12, he would not wear an Xmas jumper! He’d probably find a black Christmas t-shirt - I think he’s got one from H&M, and a primark one about FC flossing, from last year, which he’d wear instead. But a jumper would be a no no!
