Anyone got a monthly subscription magazine or box for a 5/6 yr old?

Looking for present ideas! My 8 yr old gets National Geographic Kids magazine monthly and loves it, she’s very into animals and nature.

I’m looking for an equivalent for my 5 yr old (6 in March) but am struggling. She’s a good reader for her age but not fluent and would struggle with the small text in a lot of the more grown up magazines. But the younger ones I’ve seen seem more for pre school age.

Any recommendations please? She doesn’t have one strong passion like DD1, could be interested in lots of things if it’s the right level.

Thanks!

DS2 used to get this www.okido.com/. Says it's suitable for ages 3-7.

Storybox? bayard-magazines.co.uk/products/storybox
Aimed at 3-6 (from read to reading themselves IME)
They do Adventurebox for 6-9 too

Also Storytime www.storytimemagazine.com/ although it’s been a bit marmite in this house - definitely for the fairytale lovers

Following. My (nearly 8 year old) gets Beano and The Week Junior, but at a loss for my 5 year old.

Toucan box? More crafty but some are animal themed

I can only recommend The Beano as it is the most read item in this house I think! Ds reads and rereads them over and over again, we even had a stash in the car!

I've just cancelled Toucan box for my 5 almost 6 year old. Some of it was a bit tricky and other things like a necklace just didn't appeal.

Adventure box and Whizz Pop Bang for my 6 year 6.

My 5 year old DD loves Okido magazine. Science, stories, poems, craft ideas, recipes... All based around a different theme each month. It's excellent.

Thank you! I think AdventureBox may be the one, she’s now really got into reading and is starting to read independently so AdventureBox sounds just right. If it’s a bit challenging then her older sister will get value out of it at least.

Beano probably too old for her... not in reading terms but in content.

Okido looks fun but looks like it has a lot of projects she would need an adults’ help with whereas I was hoping for something she can read or do in the mornings (she’s an early waker) or while I do homework with her sister...
