Excuse me Blush but I'm after a marble run with a bigger balls for my toddler, as I have a 11 month old who is a ninja and climbs everything so will find anything he is not meant to get. Hence I need a bigger style ball. Any ideas?

Haba ball run? Might be grown out of quick though by the toddler depending on their age. Duplo do one called tubes seems v expensive though, seems to be some eBay/wish copies coming up but can’t speak for their quality.

Bikingbear · 15/11/2020 15:22

Haba my first or kullerbu
Hubeleno (excuse spelling) works with Duplo.

Grimms rainbow used as marble run? With the Grimms balls

Dowermouse · 15/11/2020 15:56

There's a Chinese knock off of the Duplo one that works really well. My 2 didn't really find it an interesting activity till about 3 1/2 though. There are those wooden ones where cars go down zig zag ramps that might be better for a 1yo.

rainstrain · 15/11/2020 16:29

The sets look great, but so pricey as seems like you'd need a couple of different packs to make a good run.

Is the Haba one a bigger ball ( look like it might be) than the Hunelino that works with Duplo ? Dilemma as we have lots of Duplo but worried about the ball size and the baby.

OP posts:
Bikingbear · 15/11/2020 17:23

I'm not sure what size the ball is for the Duplo one but the Haba one is about 2inch diameter good size to play with.

The Haba one is something you could add to, future Christmas / Birthday ideas.

If it matters to you its wood so won't become landfill, and is made in Germany rather than being shipped from China.

wtftodo · 15/11/2020 22:28

Hubelino is amazing. We just took the balls away at the end of each play when our youngest was at that stage; then we’d give them back once the whole thing was rebuilt. Just get the set with marble run bits though, if you already have duplo. Though the more duplo you have the more fun it is

Lidl had a set that looks just like the big Haba one last week, you would probably still be able to find some in stock this week if you are lucky.

There's one on Amazon called we make what you want. The balls are alot bigger on it and it builds the same way as marble run.

If you live near me you can have this, it’s in my charity shop pile!

rainonarainyday · 17/11/2020 17:23

@GameSetMatch ahh that's kind where are you ? I'm on the edge of Farnham Surrey

@user68634 is Lidl brand playtive ?.. I've seen some great sets on eBay that look very cheap. We had a playtive Brio copy for my oldest someone bought us. It's brilliant but could never work out where it was from. There's a tiny Lidl in town, only been once, might have them in the middle aisle.

5zeds · 17/11/2020 17:27

Get a length of guttering and run it up the edge of the stairs (fix with those plastic ties that zip into themselves) and a tube of tennis balls. They have to climb the stairs to put the balls on....absolutely knackeringWink

ElfDragon · 17/11/2020 17:29

When mine were smaller, we got loads of Wonderland Trix Track, and it still gets played with now - dd2 and ds had a great time with it over the first lockdown - they’re 14 and 8 now! It’s pricey, but has been used so much over the years.

user68634 · 17/11/2020 17:31

Yes, Lidl is Playtive! We have loads of the track too, it's great.

Thehollyandtheirony · 17/11/2020 17:44

Oh wow, now I really want Hubelino!

GameSetMatch · 17/11/2020 17:48

North west, near Garstang. It’s in my charity pile so I don’t want it, if you can collect. My son had loved it, it was £60 from Early Learning Centre.

rainonarainyday · 17/11/2020 18:12

@GameSetMatch ahhh google maps says that's 200 miles away 🤣 darn it .. looks ace

DinosaurOfFire · 17/11/2020 19:00

Kullerbu is amazing and you can add to it with sets for different birthdays and Christmasses. It is often cheaper from German toy sites or amazon.de, or places like yesbebe.co.uk have it too and sometimes have offers on.

DinosaurOfFire · 17/11/2020 19:01

Kullerbu is by Haba and sometimes called Rollerby as it gets translated by the way.
