Will my 13yo DS like these presents?

Do these presents seem a good balance and thinks my DS will like? He is 13, autistic and his latest obsession is Pokemon! I'll put stars next to the things he has asked for. Please no judgement about it being a lot of presents - yes, I am 'spoiling' him! I've been in hospital the past 3 years and not as au fait with what 13yos like. What do you think? I've not bought it all yet so can make some changes if necessary.

I'm sure he will love those gifts, you've put a lot of thought into it.

UndertheCedartree · 14/11/2020 21:53

Sounds like one lucky boy to me Smile I'm sure he will be over the moon x

LadyCatStark · 15/11/2020 15:06

Sounds like a lovely set of gifts 😊

LadyCatStark · 15/11/2020 15:09

Ooh, I’d recommend adding some Japanese sweets. I got DS, who is 11 and obsessed with Japan) some from www.japancentre.com as the gift sets of Amazon seem to contain things like squid sweets, which DS would not appreciate 😂. You can also get cans of pop with Pokémon characters on.

WellTidy · 15/11/2020 15:18

My DS will be 13 in January and he would love lots of those.

OldGreyBoots · 15/11/2020 15:28

I'd be happy with that Christmas list Grin
Werewolf is my favourite game, it does get better the more people are able to play though which may be a consideration at the moment? Looks a great list though.

Cantthinkofausename · 15/11/2020 16:50

My 13 year old wouldnt like these things but seems like you've put alot of thought into it. Im sure he will love it all

Lotsachocolateplease · 15/11/2020 17:24

Lovely gifts! Add in a hoodie - teenagers love them!!

UndertheCedartree · 15/11/2020 17:29

@LadyCatStark - sounds great! He likes everything Japanese!
@OldGreyBoots - yes, there would only be 3 or 4 of us playing. Would an 8yr old be able to play do you think?
@Lotsachocolateplease- he loves hoodies!

Thanks, everyone!

@LadyCatStark - just checking out the Japanese site - amazing! They have tonnes of Pokemon things!

I wouldn’t even say that was excessive. A mixture of stuff for his particular interest, practical things and books, sounds perfect 👌

wibdib · 15/11/2020 17:44

Looks like a great mix of things he has asked for and great thoughtful surprises too (especially if the Japanese shop comes up with some fab pokemon stuff he didn’t know existed.

Ds will be 13 shortly after Christmas and he would love most of the stuff on this list. He also needs better fine motor control so one of the games I’m going to get him is Suspend which looks lots of fun and had good recommendations on the Christmas bargain threads on here. It’s worth tracking the price on camel camel camel as it does drop down to about half price sometimes.

Ds also likes the IQ Puzzler Pro which is worth a shot if your ds likes those sort of puzzle games.

Just be careful about buying pokemon cards/tins on amazon. I bought 3 tins as gifts and the cards were loose inside in all of them and all the good cards had been removed. They should still be inside sealed packets, even in tins. I now buy them online from Game with no issues.

this is also good for a Pokemon fan. My son is obsessed with Pokemon and loves this book. He basically taught himself to read with this as it was the only book he was interested in when he was younger.

rainbowandbutterflies · 15/11/2020 18:15

Ahh, I have no idea what these things are but I'm sure he will be made up, you've clearly put loads of thought and effort into it.

OldGreyBoots · 15/11/2020 18:53

@UndertheCedartree an 8 year old should be OK with it, though I suppose it depends on the individual. If they're good with following rules it should be fine, though it's not too complex, just dependant on people keeping things secret Grin

UndertheCedartree · 15/11/2020 18:59

@wibdib - thank you I'll have a look at those
@DaVinyl - that's terrible! Thanks for the advice.
@OldGreyBoots - hmm we'll have to see! Hopefully sooner rather than later he'll be able to get some of his friends together for a game!

I agree Amazon can be dodgy for Pokémon boxes. I've always been ok thankfully but have heard some horror stories.

You could have a look at Magic Madhouse and Chaos Cards for Pokémon cards related stuff.

TheLastStarfighter · 15/11/2020 22:00

Fantastic list. I am sure he will love them! I stole a couple of your ideas for my kids.
