Harry Potter style wand recommendations?

Looking for a wand for a HP mad child. Had a quick look on Etsy, would like to support local sellers etc. Any recommendations? Looking for one in a box or suggestions of a wand and a box that can put it in. Child is 8.would they be happy with a home spun one or would they want the exact replicas?

It depends what he wants to do with it and how dedicated as a fan he is.

DD has two original replicas, Hermione and Ginny, from Warner Brothers’ Studio. They are display items, not for play. Beautiful done and worth the money. But she was a bit older, I think 10, when she got them and they are on display apart from one Halloween walk.

DS has one from The Noble Collection, in a lovely presentation box. Lots of different characters, really nice quality

@reluctantbrit will definitely be played with and not a display one.

Dd has something like this which has an app which lets you ‘draw’ with light -a bit like writing your name with sparklers but permanently stored as a video. It’s quite good!

My DDs got 2 last year not homemade, from B&M I think. They can dual against each other with them. My friend also brought one back from HP world in the US they can use it there if we ever get to visit. It’s currently stored in it box and not to be played with.

@MrsWooster I saw those on Amazon and wondered if they were the ones I should use, but had some bad reviews. But more kid friendly I guess!
