please post any bargain info IN BOLD to make it easier to scroll through the thread.

To make things bold you:
Put a star each side of what you want to make bold like this but without the space between the star and the writing *

Just a reminder you can watch the thread by clicking on ‘watch this thread’ at the top of the first message. It’s much easier for everyone than so many place marking every time which can use up a fair chunk of each thread to scroll through Thanks

@JustanotherTuesday

Does anybody know if there is any bars of chocolate or chocolates that are low carb suitable for a Type 1 diabetic please ?
I would be cautious about getting diabetic chocolate as it is grim and all the diabetic people I know hate getting it
FoolShapeHeart · 13/11/2020 23:03

@straighthairdontcare

I think Aldi had candy cane lights in that were about 8m (I think). 4 canes in total.
Yes, I remembered seeing them but they're online only & sold out now unfortunately Sad
VividImagination · 13/11/2020 23:08

@JustanotherTuesday I would just get ordinary chocolate. As long as it has the carb count on it a type 1 diabetic will be fine with it. “Diabetic” chocolate is unpleasant and can cause stomach upsets.

Shufflebum · 13/11/2020 23:10

@Kolo@mummyof2boys30 Thanks I think they probably do want wireless, clueless on this sort of stuff. Thanks though
@noodledoodler that’s good to know

VividImagination · 13/11/2020 23:10

Thedarknightsaredrawingin · 13/11/2020 23:18

@buckeejit close, west coast Scotland. Hot water bottle is a good shout. We just thought a stocking from her friends, so far have a Bobbi brown lip tint, Jo Malone hand cream and £60ish left. Off to find Neom link, if not thinking white company winter candle?!

slithytoveisascientist · 13/11/2020 23:25

Would anyone be able to pm me an O2 rewards code for the Apple Watch 6 please? Tía

Famousthehero · 13/11/2020 23:27

We have tried 2 boxes out of the rancid banana cake assortment, chocolate Brownies and chocolate cookies, and couldn't eat them. They smelled like edamame beans and had a really overpowering aftertaste. We don't normally eat gluten free so I'm not sure if that's the standard taste of flour replacers (maybe the linseed?)
Not going to risk 3 bananas on the rancidity lottery.

thaegumathteth · 13/11/2020 23:32

@slithytoveisascientist I have a code but am on the app and can't pm

TheCrow · 13/11/2020 23:33

@FoolShapeHeart the candy cane lights and other lights are in store in Aldi now, they were in-store from Thursday. I saw them when I went for the pastel star lights and really wanted them but I have no outdoor space to put them!

Smileatthesmallthings · 13/11/2020 23:39

@Thedarknightsaredrawingin How about something from molton brown? There are a few bath and shower gels in the treat section under £20, and a travel collection of minis for £23

Questionsquestionsquestions · 13/11/2020 23:49

Done @slithytoveisascientist

Elphaba17 · 13/11/2020 23:59

slithytoveisascientist · 14/11/2020 00:17

Gaaah just looked and it won’t let me buy the watch upfront only on a contract. Thank you though!

fogginghell · 14/11/2020 00:36

I have a £5 off a £40 Argos spend if anyone wants it pm me!

Does anyone know of an m&s discount code ? Ordering my Christmas tree and wondering if there will be any discount code / or discount on the website soon?

Beaglemum93 · 14/11/2020 00:50

@FoolShapeHeart

I spotted some candy cane pathway lights & now I neeeeeeed festive pathway lights! My budget is pretty much gone (haha who am I kidding, long gone) so they need to be bargainous but not tacky. Argos have nice ones but only 30cm between them so the lit section is only 3ft long HmmConfused Any recommendations of magnificent bargains please? 🎇
The Range have some candy cane pathway lights.
fogginghell · 14/11/2020 01:03

Does anyone have a Very code please ?

I've changed my mind about the tree Blush

fogginghell · 14/11/2020 01:12

The Argos code has gone

WreckTangled · 14/11/2020 05:42

@JustanotherTuesday please don't buy diabetic chocolate; the sweetener they use in it has the same effect on blood glucose as sugar (maltodextrin) it's also not very nice. Hotel chocolate have high context cocoa chocolate which means less sugar, this is your best best. I suppose it depends if they're on a low carb diet or if they eat what they like and try to match the insulin. You're best asking them really. If it's the former then I can give you more ideas. If it's the latter then you can just get them normal chocolate.

IggyAce · 14/11/2020 06:13

If buying chocolate for a diabetic I’d check that they like dark chocolate and just buy them a good quality dark one. I’m type 2 and enjoy Lindt 90% and also mosher Roth (Aldi) 85%. Anything marked diabetic is likely to have a laxative effect on the recipient.

Elpheba · 14/11/2020 06:40

Worth checking to see if some Argos codes work without a spend limit. My £5 code didn’t require a minimum spend so got a nice set of Christmas lights for £5 instead of £10!

LikeSilentRaindrops · 14/11/2020 06:46

@BalaamsAss for the beer drinker, do you or DH have O2? There’s a deal running on Priority at the moment for 6 craft beers for £6, worth £20. Happy to PM you the code, assuming I can as I’ve never done it before!

BalaamsAss · 14/11/2020 06:52

@LikeSilentRaindrops I would love an O2 code! Thank you! We’re all on vodaphone in this house.

LikeSilentRaindrops · 14/11/2020 07:00

@BalaamsAss pm’ed you Smile
