Shaving soap/brush - yes/no? Recommendations

DH usually uses an electric razor. Very occasionally he'll have a wet shave. If your DP is a wet shaver (or you if you're a shaver reading this!), 2 questions please:

  1. is shaving soap & brush better than foam from a can?
  2. if so, any recommendations for soap and brush? As only used occasionally don't think it's worth spending silly money on a brush. Thanks

DP uses Taylor’s of old Bond Street, shaving cream and one of their shaving brushes. There’s loads of different fragrances of the creams and you can buy gift sets with a cream and a brush. He’s been using them for about five years, he wouldn’t go back to cans of shave gel/foam Smile

Yes. DH uses Truefitt and Hill shaving soap (1805 scent I think), not sure on his brush but he was keen on proper badger hair. He uses a regular mug rather than a specific shaving mug.

Thank you both.
