I have loads of proper gift ideas but not many for stockings.
Any ideas other than sweets, toothbrush chocolate?

Should have said boy! Otherwise a trip to Claire's would have sorted it!

Ooh I have an 8 year old boy. Bits I've got include a giant pencil from Tiger, some 'grown up' paintbrushes, a book from the series he is reading, some fun snaps, spy glasses, lego mini figure blind bag, cutetito/cuddly toy, bath bomb, stainless steel water bottle for school in a funky pattern, novelty tree decoration. Other little random things he likes are bits from Smiggle, bath play foam, little practical joke things (e.g. fake poo, whopee cushion, pretend nail-through-finger etc!), fossil/gemstone dig kits (often in Tiger/poundshop). Hopefully some inspiration there!

For an 8 year old boy id go for a pack of playing cards or top trumps , a slinky , a book (the treehouse books are brilliant for this age ) , a torch , a magnifying glass (trust me 😂) some slime , cosy socks , yoyo , a new mug with a miniaturemarchmallows hot chocolate and mini marshmallows inside & a mini box of Lego ... Also home bargains have some brilliant stocking fillers such as a small jenga (£2) in a retro box there was a while range the most expensive item was £3 , I will be buying lots of these things for my 2 sons stockings. X

Also there were large whoopy cushions in home bargains I brought one for my lot to share after school today they have been having such a laugh with it , it was definitely well under £5 but can't remember the exact price it was really good though !X
