My mum and sister are asking what to get DS, and I’m out of ideas (I’ve already done my shopping and used my ideas up!)
He likes PS4, reading and coding (but doesn’t have a PC/ laptop). He has a kindle, so can’t suggest books. No new games he’s mentioned. Pre lockdown he used to go boxing (has a punchbag but doesn’t use it/ hasn’t set it up yet) and trampolining. He’s starting to express and interest in fitness and is going to start training with DH (will use my light weights).
Any ideas?

I am thinking of a door "pull up bar" but just trying to figure out if it will damage the paintwork.

Howmanysleepsnow · 10/11/2020 12:35

That’s a good idea. Not sure if it’ll fit our doorways though as is an old house and door frames are about 7” wide and bumpy.

My DS, 15, has a pullup bar in his doorway. Also a very old house! It's an expandable one so fits all doorways. He uses it all the time.

Some other ideas.. fancy gym/workout gear, my DS into Gymshark. Fancy pants, eg. Calvin Klein boxers or nice PJs?

JMG1234 · 10/11/2020 16:58

Teenage boys aren't the easiest to buy for. Mine like fitness stuff so I second the Gymshark T-shirts, mine wanted a yoga mat for pre workout stretching and loves his pull up bar.

My younger son asked for an essential oils electric diffuser (the natural kind) for his birthday which has been a surprising hit and now my 16 year old wants one too. They also like aftershave, touchscreen gloves, wireless speakers and headphones and water bottles. Possibly not the most thrilling list but at least they're used.

Running shoes and a runing mag subscription.

VR headset.

Gaming laptop.

Switch.

Newest Arduino set/Pi/Microbit and extras.

The ones that lasted the course with us were a Himalayan salt lamp ( pretty, gets rid of ions).
Various computer bits of an Amazon wish list
An ex army surplus parker from the Czech army - £20 and apparently much better than “brands”
Army chocolate with caffeine in from the same place. A bit edgy.
Pore strips.

I came on looking for ideas for a 16yr old! He’s getting a new monitor so that’s his main gift but I find stocking type gifts so difficult! Have added a pull up bar to my basket- thank you! I have also bought;
Super soft dressing gown (Sainsbury’s)
Band tshirt
A new mug
Chocolate!!
Posh pants
Novelty socks!

Last year my surprise hit was a super soft blanket (dunelm) which he still loves.

Will keep watching for more ideas!

My 15 year old nephew isn’t in to clothes yet so I got him a Japanese hamper of sweets /snacks and drinks. Went down a treat (literally)

petitdonkey · 10/11/2020 20:11

That sounds fun naturalblonde! Do you have a link please?

Vampire or skull goblet from English Heritage

My 15yo got a Bluetooth beanie for his birthday which he loved. If he plays PS4 what kind of controller has he-can you get an upgrade? How about PS4 points? My DS also wants the Harry Potter chocolate hat from M&S and he’ll be getting money. We’re thinking of putting money rolled up inside blown up balloons, in a big santa sack. Pinterest has loads of great ideas for gifting money.

Cash towards a laptop?
What does he do schoolwork on?

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 10/11/2020 21:31

@petitdonkey there are quite a few types on amazon. I got this one then topped it up with a few random Asian drinks and noodles from my local Sainsbury’s world food isle.

PS5?

Does he have any youtubers he likes? Could get some official merch?

Ps4 controllers?

Gaming laptop or PC? Although they are ridiculously expensive.

Choccyp1g · 10/11/2020 21:38

Set of dumbbells?

petitdonkey · 10/11/2020 21:43

My DS (student) gets sweets from this company japan2oz- bit of a ripoff but quite amusing flavours

www.amazon.co.uk/Japanese-Assortment-Dagashi-Gummies-Christmas/dp/B07DX4R78B/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&crid=JK3024XC30YX&keywords=japanese+candy+box&sprefix=Japanese+%2Caps%2C185&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1605044659&sr=8-5

He also like ramune drinks- usually cheapest at Morrisons- Ocado sell them-loads of flavours- they have a marble in the neck
