Daughter who’s birthday is also the same week as Xmas. I need a toy.
She has plenty of gifts such as
Her musical instruments ( she is W passionate drummer ) so have got her a set of her own electric drum kit and a keyboard.
As well as these she has things like an angel face tutu / dr martens / vans / and some dresses she wanted from monsoon. For her birthday and a camera and stage light for Xmas with a few books and a sewing machine.
She wanted a Rolling Stones leather jacket Or jean jacket but I can’t find one for a 7 year old haha
I wanted to buy her a toy as I feel she is still at the age where receiving a toy at least is important.
She has loads of dolls and Lego from over the so neither of these.
Any toys anyone’s 7 year olds are excited about this year ?

Have a look on the website kicked uncle for some ideas.

mdh2020 · 09/11/2020 17:43

Could you buy her book? They are so important. Or a board game? Maybe she has all the toys she needs at the moment?

Teachmuggles1419 · 09/11/2020 17:47

I have bought her a illustrated Harry Potter book / bad mermaids and dork diaries between the 2 days.

She sounds fab!!!

How about a Lottie doll? There might be a rock one.

I saw kids denim jackets in H and M. She could make her own patches using felt - although obviously not a toy!!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 09/11/2020 17:47

A few things DD1, who is 6 (7 in January), has asked for:

Nintendo switch
Osmo super studio sets
Barbie dream house
Polly pockets

Scout2016 · 09/11/2020 17:47

Get a regular denim jacket and iron on some Rolling Stones patches like they did in the old days? Sure the stones have patches on sale.

Teachmuggles1419 · 09/11/2020 17:49

@kulaexchange more than you can imagine haha however she is like this girlie rock start from diff generations rolled in to one who things she is 27 ! Haha
However I know she still adores her toys so wanted to get her a toy.

What kind of toys does she play with or goes ooooh over when you are in the shops/when adverts are on TV?

Does she go to playdates? Could you ask the other mums what kind of toys she plays with there?

Teachmuggles1419 · 09/11/2020 17:53

@ComeOnBabyHauntMyBubble unfortunately no play dates and she has had an unfortunate start to school life so minimal friends.
She doesn’t watch tv 🤣🙈
That’s a good shout though maybe I will put one of the children’s tv channels on in the back ground.

Funko pops? There's a rock star collection.

kulaexchange · 09/11/2020 17:54

Teachmuggles1419 · 09/11/2020 17:55

I should add by not watching tv I meant like the tv channels
She does the worse witch and the descendants.

Last idea ... is she a fan of how to train your dragon? My daughter was given a toothless hatchimal for her 7th birthday. It would never have been on my radar and I was a bit sceptical but watching it "hatch" was really cool and it definitely kept the kids entertained for a while!!

There are Descendants dolls you can buy and dress up outfits(also handy for world book day and Halloween).

Does she watch any youtubers? Some have merch available.

Big hits with DD have always been slime/slime kits, squishamals type things , board games, a soft bodied quite realistic looking baby/toddler doll .

What about things like hoola hoops, skipping rope etc?
A scooter?

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 09/11/2020 18:06

@Teachmuggles1419

DD1 loves Descendants! We got her a Mal costume for Halloween.

user686827 · 09/11/2020 18:17

Playmobil? Lego set? Lottie doll? Barbie? Our Generation doll?

purplecorkheart · 09/11/2020 18:18

H&M and Marks and Spencer have Jean Jacket for girls. Next is normally another good place to look.

ohidoliketobe · 09/11/2020 18:24

Your daughter sounds amazingly cool! No toy suggestions but Rock the Babe on Instagram have an etsy shop, they do personalised Jean jackets for kids, I've just checked and the rolling stones is one of the options.

Teachmuggles1419 · 09/11/2020 18:45

@ohidoliketobe you may have just made a 7 year olds birthday !!! Thank you !!

@Teachmuggles1419 not trying to be a killjoy but I'd suggest looking into the dork diaries books or giving them a quick read over first, if you haven't already. There's some quite inappropriate language in there (she says she felt like a 'retard' and says it's ok for celebrities to be seen without panties but not without a phone, among other things) and most online reviews say they're more suitable for 12 years+ I know I was shocked to find this out so just a quick warning in case people aren't aware too

MenaiMna · 09/11/2020 19:04

Playmobil 5062 rockstar stage and then get the girl rockstar figure 70031

Teachmuggles1419 · 09/11/2020 19:08

@TheCrow ahh thank you they were suggested to me by someone else so I defo have a look
Daughter is disabled so would defo be inappropriate language !

OP posts:
TheCrow · 09/11/2020 19:15

@Teachmuggles1419 no problem, I know I wouldn't expect them to say things like that, especially as they're marketed towards younger kids!
