Wondering what people are getting their babies who will be around six months at Christmas, or what you are suggesting to people who ask eg. Grandparents?

I posted a thread about this last week and got some good suggestions.

On my list from us and various people (suggested items not expecting all of them) are a mix of 6m appropriate things up to about a year.

Stacking cups
Wooden blocks/stacking blocks
A tunnel (for when she can crawl)
A ball pit
A ride on/rocking horse type thing (mamas and papas have a range of animals 50% off at the moment)
Bubble machine
Pots of bubbles (sure fire way to calm my little one down)
Shape sorter
Activity cube
Abacus type toys
Books with those buttons that make irritating noises
A toy that will stick to the high chair tray
Light projector

If you don't already have one I recommend getting a sensory box off Amazon, my little one loves hers and we use the stuff daily.

Other people suggested jumparoo but I don't like them.

A toy for the garden. Sounds weird with a baby in winter, by in 3 months they will likely be a lit more mobile, and the weather CA be lovely in April/May.

Push a long walker
Textured books, like That Not My...
Bubble machine

One of our favourites at that age which had great longevity was a box of shakers/bells/maracas etc. Small enough for little hands, big enough to last till they were school age + when they wanted percussion for jingle bells.

Apart from toys - they don't need 20 different things that they'll grow out of by the next birthday - I'd ask for/get some useful things too. If they take any interest in presents at that age they usually like the box or wrapping paper best anyway. So things like character plates and bowls and little cutlery sets. Clothes. Whatever you need for the next stages and haven't already got really.

If she’s your first and other kids won’t realise lack of presents I would save money into an account for baby for when older and buy 2 cheapish presents

Would also happily ask family to do the same if they asked!
