Filled Christmas stocking for adult-does this exist??

I do Christmas stockings in our house but this year I fancy having one myself to open as well. Does anywhere do filled Christmas stockings for adults? I've had a look but can't seem to find them anywhere! I saw the ones at Hawkins but I don't want something that's just plastic tat and joke gifts. I could just make one from scratch but would have liked a surprise. Are there any 'luxury' type ones available?

Yes Hawkins Bizarre do them

Jenasaurus · 07/11/2020 18:48

Oh sorry they are the kids ones, they did adult ones last year as I bought some. I am not sure if they have discontinued

www.hawkin.com/male-christmas-stocking - Yes they are out of stock, this is the male one but they do a female one as well, quite good contents too

What about getting an advent calender and just saving it until the day?

TicTacTwo · 07/11/2020 18:58

I've not seen stocking but I've seen lots of great advent calendars for adults. You could open every day in January to stop it dragging on for so long

I think you would be better off with a quality advent calendar.

LizzieMacQueen · 07/11/2020 19:45

Sorry if I'm missing the point but do you not have a partner that could do this for you?

Stealthynamechange · 07/11/2020 19:47

I'd be interested in this too! No partner, just ds (3) & i for half a day, would be lovely to have a surprise to open.

Christmas stockings are my favourite thing! As a single parent, I deliberately drunk bought a load of things in july one year, wrapped them then and had genuinely forgotten what most were by christmas morning. I reccomend this for next year!

Have you got any christmas obsessive friends? I would absolutely love to do something like this for someone. Indeed, I have sewn stockings and filled them as christmas gifts before...

@howlsmovingcastle84

How about starting a trend here. I'm sure some kind MNrs would join you in a stockings gifting thread. Sort of like the Xmas gift one they do.

CodenameVillanelle · 07/11/2020 20:36

Can nobody in your family do it for you? Or are you a LP to young kids?
I think one of those beauty advent calendars might be the thing as they will have 24 nice treats in which is plenty to open!

They stopped the xmas gifting threads number of years ago because some people were taking advantage and a few were actively conning mumsnetters.

I have seen adult ones before but I cant remember which site but it was those gadget/gift sites like Prezziebox or IWOOT etc...

TrickyD · 08/11/2020 14:14

Superdrug do a ‘12 days of Christmas’ calendar with full sized products. Vegan friendly apparently. I have ordered one for DS1’s GF, but quite fancied one myself.

Bowerbird5 · 08/11/2020 14:17

My friend and her sister do this every year. They buy a beautiful box or bag and fill it with wrapped gifts. I don’t do it for mine because two of them couldn’t afford it and the other one would cost more in postage. There are advent calendars. I don’t like them because it isn’t what they are meant for but it could be an alternative if you have no family etc.

SparklyOwl · 08/11/2020 14:19

Can you get a friend or relative to help out? If you give them the money so they have to stick within budget and hopefully they will get things you like that are still a surprise.

Badnessinthefolds · 08/11/2020 14:22

Reddit do an international secret Santa which might work if you requested a stocking (although you do have to buy a gift in return!)

There's also these if you like reading: www.thebooktaster.com/accessories

Last year I unashamedly did my own. But I got the stuff in November and wrapped it quickly so I couldn't really remember what was in it lol. It was like a face wash, lip balm, hair band, eyeliner and some chocs

Liberty are offering online personal shopping appointments. Perhaps you could book one and give them a budget and have a chat about your likes and dislikes.
