What to get a 5 year old girl?

Need a birthday and Xmas gift for 5 year old and her 3 year old sister, have asked mum but as yet not had a response. Ta

My DD is into LOL and Barbie. She's quite crafty too so have got her a paint your own tea set for her birthday next month

What are they like, and what do they like? When you see them, what to they talk about? Are they all about pink or frills, or more tomboyish?

playmobile? Lego?

I think this is quite an easy age to buy for. Generic gifts such as drawing sets/ craft sets etc go down well (make your own jewellery/nail kit or paint your own moneybox/statue/trinket box etc) all tend to work and can be adapted according to child. Soft toys still surprisingly popular too at that age.

Second LOL dolls. Also any of the other random doll types you can buy in toy shops or the toy aisle at a big supermarket! Sparkle etc.

For the younger one especially, sets that allow make believe play could work - DD loved getting castles/houses/farm yards with accompanying characters. usually she'd then mix and match from previous sets too so the princesses would be playing in the barn with the horses, or whatever.

Depending on family and child - children's make up/nail kits/ hair decorations. My niece loved getting sparkly shoes/bags etc. Stuff her mum didn't usually buy (amusingly, SIL then got DD similar stuff down the line and DD loved it. I guess it's not practical so you don't buy it yourself but the kids do love having it). Also dress up clothes.

For outdoors, bat and ball games eg the sticky ones are good, especially for the younger one. DD loved the basketball someone got her last year. A junior tennis set might be doable for the 5 year old too. Set of chalk and blackboard that can be set up outside is nice (although DD just draws on the shed! )

My 5 & 3 year old dd’s like Barbie, jigsaws, hair stuff, sparkly bags, Playmobil, games, anything arty, with pens. Lego is always loved & appreciated here too.

My 5yo niece wants a doctors kit and a vet kit for christmas, and she loves playing with train sets, pirate ships, lego etc too

You could also look at sylvanian families, and maybe those kidizoom cameras

At 5 my DD loved my little ponies, baby alive dolls and just started playing with Lego.

At that age they seem to love everything. Colouring, painting, crafts, dressing up things. Polly pocket is very popular with my GD

If you asked my DD you'd get the following answer.

Barbie, barbie, barbie, playmobil, barbie, barbie, BAAAAAAARRRRRBIE. Alllllll the Barbie!

My DD same age wants a hatchimal. They are v popular though so going fast (the interactive ones).

B & M have a lot of 2 for £20 gifts, things like magic sand, nail art, play doh, craft stuff. Or a hamper of lots of their favourite things.

all of the above plus I’d also add beanie boo toys-they all seem to love them.

have you tried colored sand art bottles? they are a good hit. Lets them be creative and design out new things and be crafty. Kids love those. I got it from CrazySand a kit and they are amazing
