Beautiful cloth-bound books and where to buy them?

I would like to buy, for teenage children, but also potentially for others, some good but also beautiful, cloth-bound, well illustrated books.

We have got some lovely ones over recent years, which I thought I would share here and hopefully get some other ideas.

Linking to Amazon for ease, but we will order from our local bookshop. These are what we already have:

The Sherlock Holmes Collection 6 Books Box Set By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle www.amazon.co.uk/dp/9526530160/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ZfBOFbP088FPQ?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

The Fox and the Star www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1846148502/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_cnBOFbP9QNA18?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

The Snow Queen www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0091959004/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ToBOFb3FZF4R2?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

Any ideas of similar? I was thinking maybe Tolkien, maybe classics like Treasure Island or Moby Dick, but in really nice editions rather than just standard paperbacks.

Saw these in a shop the other day. Beautiful and well priced. DD will be getting some for Christmas.

This collection of illustrated classics is lovely. Beautiful bindings, and also interactive elements like fold out maps etc.

There are quite a few in the series: the secret garden, jungle book, beauty and the beast, Alice in wonderland

I've bought a few from the folio society, and have asked for Rebecca for Christmas. They are really nice and I plan to collect them.

My local Waterstones has a gift bookcase in the children's section with beautiful hardback and cloth gift books.

Oh, some lovely ideas there. Thank you! I’ll have to have a proper look tomorrow in the laptop. How could I have not known the folio society were still going?

Definitely agree with folio - and I’ve bought quite a few second hand. They tend to be well looked after, so are often in great condition and are usually £10-£15 a copy.
