DDs tends to buy cheapy make up, perfume and skin care and I was wondering what makes to look at for presents for them? Any pointers for something a bit nicer would be great.

Hi! Try Morphe, it’s quite cheap (you can buy an eyeshadow palette for about £20 with loads of colours) and it’s really good quality. Alternatively l’oreal, maybelline etc all offer quite cheap but good enough makeup. For perfume lots of girls like hollister sprays, Victoria secret sprays etc. If you would prefer a perfume to a spray why not look at a celebrity she might like, eg. Ariana Grande has some perfumes. Or you could take her to choose her own perfume (probably better for her age.) Popular skincare brands at the moment are clinique, mario badescu, the ordinary. But I also find simple, garnier etc are also good for the skin.

Definitely Morphe, they usually have promotions running and deals on brushes. My dd got a pallet for her birthday and requested another for Christmas. Also benefit is popular with my dd & friends they do a cracker containing some minis or you could buy some minis I think boots have them on offer (brow gel, pore professional & mascara).
DD likes the Just Pink perfume from Next so I’ve got her the body spray of that for her stocking. Ted Baker also does nice body sprays.

Benefit or Too Faced would be good, in addition to Morphe which has already been suggested.

Birchbox usually have a really cheap deal on Black Friday - I’ve done this for the last 2 years and it’s been easy to cancel ( it’s a subscription service but you can buy the first box and then cancel). It’s gone down well with my dd - she likes having the small sample sizes to try out anyway

The already suggested Too Faced ( Boots have a great set in at the moment).
Urban Decay palattes are beautiful but I'm not sure they are really worth the price tag tbh

At that age I would personally avoid any celebrity perfumes or sprays from clothing brands and buy a proper bottle of perfume. Gucci bloom is popular but very expensive. Marc Jacobs is another nice option. I would go and smell some and ask which are the most popular brands.

Definitely Morphe. Dd loves the James Charles palettes. Benefit also good for teens. Too faced chocolate box palette is another fantastic buy and far better quality than the urban decay palettes

I’ve just bought Benefit for for DSDs 15 & 16. The new Marc Jacobs Perfect is lovely, not too heavy, nice & fresh Smile

Glossier is popular with that age group and has some nice stuff. Also Clarins have a newish range aimed at teenagers/early twenties with good quality basics.

skippy67 · 26/10/2020 11:09

Another vote for Morphe. Wait til black Friday though.

actiongirl1978 · 27/10/2020 08:44

Yes, Glossier. I am buying stuff from there for Dd12 and DN's 15 & 17

Florence by Mills skincare is high on the list on this house sold in Boots. Also Kylie skin has now launched in the UK but its £££

Scout2016 · 27/10/2020 09:24

Urban Decay or Bourjois are long lasting and decent quality.

Meggymoo777 · 27/10/2020 21:15

OhMyGlam have some beautiful bundles on sale at the moment and their products are fantastic quality.
Bperfect cosmetics also super for bundles and product quality (still a bit 😳 about their launch event in Belfast though)
LA Girl is another lovely high street brand x
