What's going in your kids Christmas Eve Box?

I'm looking for some unusual ideas really. We have the standard PJs and hot chocolate. We also almost always have a dressing gown, a book (either reading or activity) and a small TY beanie boo plush. However I always like to include something a little different each year, for instance last year they got a cup with a curly straw and the year before they got a furry water bottle. I usually spend weeks going round the shops in the lead up to Christmas and always manage to find something fun during that time but due to covid I won't be doing that this year. The girls are 8 and 5. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm getting mine the type of cuddly you warm up in the microwave (Warmies). A sloth for DD and a husky for DS. Apart from that there will be pjs, Chronicles of Narnia books and DVDs and a craft set each. I'm also making them a sweetcone in a chocolate waffle ice cream cone. Some sort of Christmas chocolate will go in there too or maybe popcorn. I also always include a Christmas tree ornament.

I'm putting in a DIY build a bear kit, of a snowman, reindeer, etc, each. (About £7 from splodge teddies).

Also a little lego polybag kit, christmas themed.

I normally do Christmas socks for everyone, (I reuse mine and DH's unless they've worn out). Sometimes a Christmas bath toy, this year I'd like to get DS a Christmas snowglobe.

We have an engraved bell for each child that lives in the Christmas Eve box until they are going up to bed. They hang the bell on the tree and ring it to let Santa Claus know they are going up to bed and straight to sleep!

This is my first year of christmas eve boxing (very excited!) Do you wrap the stuff in the box or is wrapping strictly for Christmas morning only?

I don't tend to. Maybe the PJs but that's usually it. (I do wrap stocking presents though.)

Have you got a Flying Tiger nearby? I always find great Xmas eve/stocking filler type things in there

• new pjs (yet to be purchased but will be from Primark as DC love their soft fleecy ones)

I also do a treasure hunt to find the Christmas Eve box which the DC love and keeps them amused for a while.

Aside from PJs, socks, book and DVD, I usually put in a new toothbrush (novelty if poss), bath bomb, lip balm and hot chocolate stuff.
