Hi everyone,

Hope you're all having a nice day. Smile

I am starting to put some gifts ideas together for ths year and I'm stuck re what to buy for DH

  • he works in IT (software)
  • in his thirties
  • he married an amazing woman (me) this year Grin (sorry, couldn't help it)
  • has everything he could possibly want
  • has a shitload of gadgets (🙄)
  • can't get him city breaks as I usually do because of the pandemics situation
  • not crazy about clothing & we WFH so no point really
  • doesnt't read
  • doesn't drink a lot

I'm screwed, I guess... any help, wise mumsnetters, please?

My DH loved a Lego Architecture model I got him (actually I got him two - a sopwith camel aeroplane and the Sydney Opera House).

A cashmere scarf and a hat. You can’t ever go wrong with cashmere.

A curry kit (or other).

Pizza oven is a great idea!

Lock breaking kit was very popular with DHs/DPs/Dads/brothers a couple of years ago according to the gift threads on MN.

Build a radio kit.

There were some great ideas on this thread

This year seems to be particularly tricky. I'd normally get DP tickets to something but that feels too risky this year.

What about a steak stone?
It's a slab of stone you heat under the grill and bring to the table to cook your steak on.

Ninkanink · 23/10/2020 09:24

Mmmmmm steak.

As a stocking filler, the first year we were married my DH loved a bauble I got him from not on the high street saying ‘First year as Mr&Mrs xxxxxx’

@burglarbettybaby

I'm sort of in the same boat so I was thinking of clothes but also good skincare (Clarins moisturiser etc) and better quality shower gel than usual Rucksack from Northface / hat Voucher for running shoes

(have birthday in Jan so for either occasion)

I brought my husband a Riley and Briggs (I think) rucksack

They have a lifetime guarantee!!!

Happyheartlovelife · 23/10/2020 10:12

Whomever suggested the escape room

Genius! I've just brought my DH one. Who is the same as Op

In IT. Doesn't drink. Doesn't smoke. Doesn't have hobbies. Works a lot. (We have our own IT company. So we work long hours).

Happyheartlovelife · 23/10/2020 10:14

We usually get each other a holiday

He floors me every year with presents. He's amazing at listening to me moan about something and he's just fabulous at picking stuff for me

This year I was going to get us all a trip to Canada. However I can't. So Im stumped!

I encouraged my dh to take up photography years ago which has taken care of gifts ever since although it’s £££. Once I run out of things to buy he’ll need to be shoehorned into a new hobby.

Woooow, thanks guys! I ll process all the information and promise to come back and tell what I've got him! Thanksb
