Zoo for 4 year old

DD has decided she wants a zoo for Christmas and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? Googling just brings up playmobil which is more than I'd like to spend, although of course second hand is an option. Does anyone know of any other decent zoo play sets? Budget ideally around £50. Thanks!

For longevity and quality get schleich

With a zoo play mat

Or search zoo playmat

I was also going to suggest schleich and collect for a few years. Don't waste money on the buildings, just animals and they can use boxes for buildings and buildings blocks for fences. Or Playmobil do nice animals separately too (used to anyway).

Absolutely agree re Schleich. We've built it up slowly and now have so much. We also have the scenery sets they did of the watering hole and river etc and DS plays with them nearly every day and he's 8.5. He has two trofast units full in his bedroom. DH jokes it's our retirement plan!

I would say though that DS played with his playmobil zoo constantly from 4 to about 6 at least. He loved putting the animals in groups and setting it all up - kept him occupied for hours so if you can find one second hand I would do so. His other toys didn't really get a look in!

We also then bought additional animals and fencing in playmobil as stocking fillers/birthday gifts and as small rewards for good behaviour etc. He still plays with the aquarium set now actually! They are very intricate for play.

Most of the playmobil is now filling half my loft waiting for smallest DS to show an interest!

I would go for playmobile if you can, but disagree with schleich recommendations they are lovely but so pricey.

I agree with Schleich. We started buying for our eldest when he was 2. He still gets them out occasionally now, at nearly 8, and my 5 year old plays with them virtually daily!

Thanks everyone :) that's actually the one I had in my basket @Aquamarine1029 but just didn't know if it was wow enough. I've decided to just buy some figures and attempt to make my own zoo for them to go in. I've got an excellent image of how it's going to look but I don't have a creative bone in my body so we'll see how this ends up 😂 probably in an emergency argos trip on Christmas Eve...
