Hawkins Bazaar pre filled stockings

Are these any good? Just got one for my 6 year old DD as they are on sale for £14.99. I don’t fancy trawling the shops for stocking fillers this year! Does anyone know what type of stuff they have in there?

Following with interest! With work looking to be crazy up until Christmas I have very little chance for Christmas shopping this year.

RandallBoggs · 15/10/2020 18:24

The reviews look good tallest. And it’s £10 off the usual price. I could only find girls 8+ on there though

I think Hawkins Bazaar closed down after Christmas 2019 and are just getting rid of old stock.

RandallBoggs · 15/10/2020 19:11

Perhaps! There is a fair bit on their website though. Might be worth a look for some!

I've bought them for a few years, they are very good value, I think they are just selling off last year's stock now though.

RandallBoggs · 15/10/2020 19:41

That’s good to know, thank you. I haven’t got one before so if will be all new stuff for her Smile

We got one in that age range last year, it had some good things in it. There was a duck umbrella which is still working, amazingly, among other things. It was worth the money anyway. Having to do our own this year and I'm pretty sure I've already spent more that I did on the pre-filled one.

passthepesto · 16/10/2020 19:19

My experience of them is that they are total shit but then I had to make a formal complaint about the content of the one we got and because they came wrapped, we never saw the content until DD unwrapped and was upset and assumed FC had them on the naughty list!

Isadora2007 · 16/10/2020 21:08

I wasn’t impressed when I paid around £5 for them tbh. Sorry.

AriettyHomily · 16/10/2020 21:09

Doubt it. It was full of shite As a functioning shop.

PracticingPerson · 16/10/2020 21:11

This sounds a bit dreary, surely they'll just be full of tat?

RandallBoggs · 17/10/2020 20:45

Nooo this isn’t good! Hopefully mine isn’t shit. To be fair, I like tat in a stocking but we will see. Will update on Monday when it arrives!

Just looked and Hawkins Bazaar have been taken out of administration.

I ordered one of these for girl 8+ for £14.99. I got it to split between my 8yo DD and 13yo DS. For the price I'm pretty happy.

It comes in a very cheap felt stocking (but I won't be using it as they already have their own nice stockings). It was also only 2/3 full so would need to be topped up - some sweets and chocolate would do it.

Here is what was in it and how I've split it

DD (8)
Light up rubber duck
Decorate your own butterfly kit
Flower and butterfly rubbers
Flower and hearts wooden noughts and crosses game
Russian doll lipgloss
Clockwork russian doll toy
3d animal puzzles
Glitter tattoos
Light up echo microphone
Nemo robo fish toy

DS (13)
Dog keyring
Owl rubber and sharpener
Crystal quartz
Magic tattoos
Light up silly eyes headband
Hangman magnetic game

Also had a small bag of loom bands which I won't be giving my daughter as they just go everywhere and a wooden clown trinket box which I find a bit creepy!

RandallBoggs · 19/10/2020 17:27

Mine arrived today too @UndertheCedartree! Exact same things in mine too. I’m really pleased with it!
I agree with you re: the stocking themselves though. I’m going to put it in my DD’s usual one. It’s definitely taken the hassle out of it!

@RandallBoggs - glad you were pleased with it too - plenty to keep them entertained!
