Ideas for a creative and cool 14 year old DD...

DD is 14 just after Christmas and I’m quite stuck for ideas for her this year.

She’s very creative, (LAMDA, Italia Conti, G4 piano etc) Quite a cool (in her opinion!!! 😬) dress sense. Loved urban outfitters, 2nd hand stores etc and is finding her voice on SM platforms with current affairs, rights and political movements.

She does like makeup and spending time on herself but I’m very aware and trying to avoid anything that could make her feel like she need to improve on herself and think if it’s something she wants to try, it’s up to her.

She used to like writing stories and reading, not so much recently, LOVES art, but feel like I’ve done this to death previous years.

Is an absolute wizz at musicals and can name one from 2 seconds of a song, hasn’t seen that many but listens and learns songs from them all the time.

She is very musical in general (doing it for GCSE) amazing ear for beats, voice, harmonies and loves nothing better than learning a song and making it her own on the the piano and vocals.

Is a passionate vegetarian but misses certain foods deeply, hotdogs, marshmallows etc (we have done the naked mallows before probs will add another bag to her stocking)

Likes to dot journal, scrapbook, look after her skin, add to her room in an aesthetically pleasing way and LOVES Billy Eilish

What would you buy buy her?!

A graphics tablet if she has a laptop? She can then download software like sketchbook pro for free and draw graphic illustrations, or similar if she has an iPad, an apple pen and procreate (£10 app) Its really good.

An adobe creative cloud student subscription

A vegan junk food recipe book

AirPods and subscription to Spotify

Room decor stuff, bedding from urban outfitters and other little quirky bits

Earring making kit. I bought one for DD 15 for the summer holidays. She absolutely loves it and has made earrings for all of her friends for birthdays and some for me and they are really nice.

The picture is if two of the pairs DD made for my birthday Smile

Maybe a vegan recipe book
Tesco frys hotdogs are vegan and you can get vegan versions of everything these days. My children are lifelong vegan for the animals and eat exactly the same as other people.
You can get those tins on amazon to do s'mores. Aldi have 99p vegan mallows, m&s £1.50 and asda sell the american dandys vegan mallows for £2.

Graphics tablet. Dd has this one and would recommend it.

ChasedByFox · 14/10/2020 21:21

The wacom tablets are very good, we have one. My DD is same age, and uses it regularly.
