She doesn’t ask for much. Considering a laptop but not sure she’s used it.

Likes friends (got her the lego) k pop and live music 😟 will occasionally ask for clothes but only one skirt so far. Not into makeup much although might like the odd item. Just had a new phone for Xmas, reads but not as much as she used to so I’ve got a couple of books in mind.

Adores hello kitty and pink!

Has a switch, plays Pokemon a lot.

Any ideas? I’m feeling like spending on her 21 year old sister is much easier.

Morphe had a sale on their make up brushes so maybe a nice set of brushes?
Does she enjoy her downtime - a lovely set of comfy lounging clothes maybe?
Any streaming gigs that you could get her tickets to?

Leeds2 · 13/10/2020 19:29

Lush bath bombs, or gift set.

Lovemusic33 · 13/10/2020 21:02

She sounds a bit like my dd, so far I have bought her the Christmas 2020 stitch teddy from Disney store and not much else, I’m totally stuck and all she says is “can I have money?”

I thought about getting her a weighted blanket but I’m not sure if she will use it. I usually get her some head phones as she gets through a couple pairs a year. She wants a new switch controller but wants to buy it herself.

Following for ideas.

RJnomore1 · 14/10/2020 12:13

Thanks guys a few ideas there. I hadn’t considered live stream gigs, worth a look. Nice makeup brushes may go down well too.

She has an instax, and fairy lights, waffle maker could be a hit.

She doesn’t even want money - she will get it from grandparents and while she’d spend It if I gave her some, she’s a bit like me and regards it as a cop out as a present with no thought put in 🙈

She really will be happy With anything she gets, I shouldn’t complain but it’s not easy is it?

Oodie's seem popular? Might be better than a weighted blanket. The 16 year old I know is obsessed with water bottles, particularly Chilly's ones. I'd get a new Switch game, I think there is a Hello Kitty one.

If she likes music, what about an instrument? Ukulele, keyboard, guitar? Or a karaoke machine.

Janevaljane · 14/10/2020 12:37

Does she have any hobbies?

RJnomore1 · 14/10/2020 15:44

She has a ukelele- it’s a great gift

I’ve just bought mine a Mark Hill pick n mix hair styler - you buy the handle and styling wands separately. Boots sells them on a 3 for 2 offer. I’ve no idea if it’s any good but spent hours watching YouTube videos on how to use it and deciding which ones to buy! I also bought her some hair styling products to go with it.

Joma bracelet
Digital photo frame

Puffinhead · 15/10/2020 22:02

@Sheknowsaboutme, could you recommend a digital photo frame? Have you bought one for your DC?

Sheknowsaboutme · 16/10/2020 07:04

Sorry no! I have never bought one!

GazingAndGrazing · 16/10/2020 19:06

I’ve bought my 16yr DD a long cardigan from silk Fred.com
Cashmere socks, gym shark, Nike trainers, Costa voucher, Morphe brushes, Vera wang perfume from amazon, liz Earle face wash kit, Lego 3 in 1, charcoal face masks, silk dressing gown and some silly bits from bizzar Hawkins

Feckmesideways · 16/10/2020 21:28

Japanese sweets box off amazon, they also do Japanese Pokemon cans of fizz.

RJnomore1 · 17/10/2020 08:57

Costa voucher def. she’s not that big on doing her hair, not sure astyler would get much use.

Japanese candy box is a brilliant idea and I see from trawling the bargain threads you can g bubble tea kits too.

She’s also let slip she would like a hello kitty skateboard (well any skateboard but she’d love a hello kitty one) 🙈 anyone know what safety gear she would need?

@Sheknowsaboutme

Sorry no! I have never bought one!
Never mind! I’m now thinking about an iPhone tripod/selfie stick if anyone has any experience of these? I’ve read so many reviews on Amazon I don’t know what to choose - I suspect I’m over-thinking it though!
jennie0412 · 17/10/2020 19:27

If she likes bts, maybe their new album (it comes out in November, so she may already have it by then), or an army bomb (a light stick kind of thing) would go down well! Smile

RJnomore1 · 17/10/2020 20:50

Off to google an army bomb!

If you are thinking make up brushes and she likes pink you can get some where the handles of the brushes are like unicorn horns

If she likes kpop is she into south korean culture in general? They are huge on skin care over there so you could get her some sheet masks from a korean brand?

Any pokemon games for the switch that she doesnt have yet?

Personalised switch joycons, maybe pokemon themed

A selection box of all the different flavours of kitkats you can get from around the world? They have loads of unusual flavours in japan / south korea

A hoodie

Hello kitty pyjamas

Headphones / ear phones / air pods
