Lego vs Playmobil Dinosaurs

DS2 will be 4 at Christmas.
He wants Dinosaurs,
The Playmobil stuff might be more age appropriate. But big brother has tons of Lego that DS2 is attracted to.

Which would you go for?

No advice but watching with interest on the Lego vs playmobil (for me also vs sylvanians for DD).

DD has some Lego and playmobil and I have been wondering the same. It seems like right now, although she likes building, she gets more small world play out of the playmobil. I think both are roughly the same sort of price but would Lego have more longevity as a toy?! She's also 4 just before Christmas.

Not sure if you could find it on eBay but DD also has a handed down Duplo dinosaurs set which has had a LOT of play!

Look at vtech switch and go dinos. My son adores them, more than his lego dinosaurs. They are far more fun.

Shleich or however it's spelt they are great quality, last years, will be played with imaginatively with Playmobil or Lego.

At 4yo, DS got a cheap 2-foot tube of dinosaurs for Xmas from a family member. At 9yo they're still in good shape and still get played with regularly.

I honestly wouldn't bother with Duplo and just go straight to Lego.

I would say playmobil would be better for small world play.

We have Playmobil, Lego, and normal dinosaurs.

At 4... I'd chose Playmobil over Lego, with the exception of a general tub of Lego. Different type of playing really. Id mix normal dinosaurs in with Playmobil dinosaur sets for variety.

I should also mention he loves his Duplo T-Rex. But the other two smaller Duplo dinos get ignored.

So I definitely want reasonal sized Dinos.

I would get playmobil as if he takes the Lego pieces apart he might never be able to rebuild them! My DS is 5 and crazy about Lego but if you buy him a set that builds a specific thing rather than just the blocks it is taken apart bit by bit over a period of a few days never to be rebuilt again!

For dinosaur figures, Schleich cannot be beaten-my 3.5 year old loves his. Then I would get playmobil for him for the playsets.
