Has anyone made one? Is it as easy and effective as I'm hoping or should I just buy a ready made one to decorate.

I've not made one, but my SIL hangs a single branch and decorates it. I believe it may have a Scottish origin? Could be making that up but it looks beautiful and very festive.

torthecatlady · 11/10/2020 14:18

I googled it and can't see anything about it having a Scottish origin, so ignore that Blush

I had a go and it was super easy.
This one won't be staying like that as it needs playing around with and different things adding but at least I know it's doable.

That's fab. What did you use to tie them? Just string or did you use tacks or something to hold them in place?

BunTooti · 11/10/2020 18:48

Thank you. It was fun.
Just string and a glue dot on the back to make it a bit sturdier.

I'll get some twigs next time I'm down the woods and give it a go. It looks like something you could keep up all year with different decorations. Spring, Easter, harvest, Halloween etc

BunTooti · 11/10/2020 18:56

Ooh Halloween decorations on it could be fun.
I collected enough twigs to make a few.

Love it!

And I love that it's easy to make Grin 9yo has a big bag of twigs in his room, I may pilfer some and make a tree or two.
