Stocking fillers- older Primary school age

What are you planning on putting in your DCs this year?

I'm finding DD7 a bit easier than DD9.

So far my list for both...

  • stationery like post it notes and pritt stick
  • cake decorating bits
  • HP colour changing soap
  • HP door sign
  • Cub blanket badge
  • book
  • sweets/chocolate
  • chopsticks
  • spork
  • Lego minifig
  • hot chocolate sachets
  • keyring

For DD7 I can get stuff like lip gloss, dinosaur fossil, hair bands- but DD9 doesn't like that stuff. She's not a little kid... But shes not into 'grown up' stuff.

Any ideas?

(Our stockings are fun and useful things, not novelty items that would be discarded)

How about some nice bracelets or necklace.
Nice lip balm perhaps a tinted one so it’s a bit more grown up.
Nail polish/manicure bits.

DD9 also at that funny age, her stocking so far-

Fluffy cat pen
Cat pencil sharpener
Cat page markers
Cat ear headband
Hair bows
Christmas themed hand wash or shower gel (would be bath bombs if we had a bath!)
Pusheen slipper socks
Cat socks
Mandatory chocolate orange

Note book and gel pens

Adult style colouring book or craft set. My dd 8 likes those stone painting kits you get in the works etc and printed canvas to colour in.
Small game or card game
My dd has just got into shower gel and perfume.
My DC both got mugs last Christmas which they like to have hot chocolate in.

My dd is 9 just before Christmas. She loves things like lipgloss etc although grown up stuff. But she also likes dolls as well (Barbies and American girls).

For her stocking, it won’t be much. We only have up to 5 small gifts in it. She likes puzzle books (crosswords/sudoku), rubix cube (she has a couple but will look out for other ones), fancy pens, slime (still loves the stuff), desk organiser type things... not much really.

Thanks for ideas. I've now got even more ideas of what DD7 would like... But DD9 is awkward! Doesn't like make up or jewellery, not into gaming or tech...

Nail polish, make up, mini perfume, chocolates, gel/glitter pens, earrings, sweets, bath bombs, soft/fluffy socsk/slipper socks. My girls are 7 & 8. I usually spend about £20, and they usually have about 6/7 things.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 12/10/2020 14:24

Would she like some bits to do Decoupage? It's really easy to do but tends to be aimed more at adults, so could be seen as a more grown up hobby. Or other crafty bits and pieces, like a cross stich kit or good quality colouring pens or Sharpies
