Family board game ideas with a 6 year old

Apologies if this has already been done but I’ve had a quick search and can’t find anything recent.
I’m looking for a board game that we can play Christmas Day with adults and a 6 year old girl. She already has junior cluedo and monopoly but we want something different that everyone will enjoy.
Many thanks in advance.

It's not really a board game as such but we like Shut the Box - various options/ editions on Amazon. eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jaques-London-Shut-Dice-Game/dp/B085TKCCRB/ref=mpssa116?dchild=1&keywords=shut+the+box&qid=1602344148&sr=8-6

There's a bit off adding up from 2 dice, a tiny bit of strategy and luck involved. It's a level playing field for all ages- which helps if there's a 6 yr old playing adults. Each game only takes a few minutes - so no good if you want a whole afternoon of Monotony-but we might play a 'Best of 10' or something. We've had it years and play it often.

Tumble Tree has been very popular here.

Not board games, but really fun games for younger ones that I highly recommend :
Dobble
Sleeping Queens
UNO

We enjoy Forbidden Island which is a cooperative game.

Fivemoreminutes1 · 10/10/2020 16:58

Scotland Yard Junior
Labyrinth
Dobble
Bugs in the Kitchen
Hedbanz
Exploding Kittens

We've played The Logo Game in teams before, which usually goes quite well. Oh, maybe Destination? There was a Christmas edition, not sure if it's still on sale.

Thank you for your replies so far. So many games I’ve never heard of so I’m googling them to have a look!
We already have Dobble which is a hit here.

We had so much fun last Christmas Day playing Junior Articulate with DD6 and 5 adults!

EternalOptimist7 · 10/10/2020 18:07

We had a racing Santas game with a box of crackers - so much fun!

Ticket to ride junior

Candy land.

Stompythedinosaur · 10/10/2020 18:38

Carcassonne is good for that age, so is labyrinth.

If you’re looking for an easy to pick up, quick to play game, Santa’s Rooftop Challenge has been a surprising favourite in our house. Our children are 10, 12 and 17, all non-believers, but still play it.

Exploding kittens and On Your Marks are also enjoyed by all ages.

Gooseysgirl · 10/10/2020 18:47

We have great fun with Bank Attack, our six year old loves it!

Labyrinth is our favourite family game, enjoyed by both DS 10 & DD 5. It’s strategic but also involves an element of luck. DD Occasionally DD needs a bit of help, but generally has a good go by herself & often wins.

Qwirkle cubes

Dd has been beating me quite regularly since she was 6

Game of Life is a big hit with my DS who was 6 last Christmas- I’ve bought Ticket to Ride this year but they do a junior version too. And I’ve just seen someone recommended Santa’s Rooftop Challenge - we had a couple years ago and still a hit and played all year.

Equimum · 10/10/2020 20:11

When playing as a family with our 7 year old, we all love:

Ticket to ride first journeys
Exploding Kittens
Labyrinth
Frustration
Bugs in the kitchen

taranaki · 10/10/2020 20:48

Concept junior is a really lovely game

Wishihadanalgorithm · 10/10/2020 23:31

Pass the bomb - though not a board game.my 6yo loves it? Also Labyrinth and Bugs in the Kitchen.

Voiceofreason92 · 11/10/2020 00:06

My six year old likes Kingdomino, Labyrinth, Carcassone (when I persuade him to play).
