Okay - this is a little bit much. But I've got my DD Paperchase Advent calendar (which I'm hoping she will love) - my DS2 a Hot Wheels Calendar (he's far too old for this, but is nuts about cars and quite immature ) and a posh Lindt chocolate Advent Calendar for my DS1 (who is more mature and grown up) .

They haven't had the best year (who has???) and I want to treat everyone. I'm also getting the L'Occitane one for myself. Offered my DH a wine advent calendar, but he refused - so is getting a cheese truckle gift pack on the 1st Dec - his choice.

I am ridiculously excited about this, and can't believe it's only October - dammit.

Please tell me others on this Christmas area are over excited too?

I love Christmas but I'm not usually very organised and it ends up being quite stressful; this year I've prepared and it's so lovely :) I've planned gift lists, activities, and I feel like I'm more excited about the whole thing than the kids are going to be

My mum has knitted my 3 DC lovely big stockings too, I just can't wait. Roll on December before I just burst!

Sorry forgot to say about the advent calendars! I love to use the decorative ones and I'm splashing out on reusable wooden ones for everyone from the range

I have gone a bit wild and ordered DH two. One is a naked marshmallow one which comes with it's own little toaster and a gourmet popcorn one. I know he will love them and he never spends money on himself... he will be a bit annoyed at me though!

I was picturing a proper toaster (bread=toast) initially and couldn’t work out how it linked in with marshmallows ! I kept thinking ‘but marshmallows in a toaster would be messy!’ I had to google it before I worked it out

Every year I create a personalized Advent calendar. Each morning both son (teen) and husband find a clue on the kitchen table and have to search for what they get. Last year husband got small amounts of unground coffees (a run up to xmas coffee maker) and son got various Magic the gathering cards each day.
The year before both got chocolates. in 2017 it was beers/whiskey and chocs/lego for the smaller one.

Thanks for reminding me that i need to come up with something this year too....

I think that this year you should treat yourself

DH has bought himself a beer advent calendar and I've a Yankee Candle one. Whilst I'd love a beauty one I'm not too high maintenance so most would be a waste. Whilst his cost way more than mine I get more presents at Christmas and if there's a beer I like the sound of he'll let me have.

You inspired me. I resist the fancy advent calendar every year and just put choc and a joke in our reusable one. But it has been a rubbish year so just ordered a Lego christmas (santa etc) for my 7 year old and Harry Potter with key rings, stationary etc for 12 year old. I am treating myself to a new christmas tree as ours is older than my kids, and also going to tackle the 1000 piece jigsaw I was gifted months ago (42 pieces per day) .

Just under 3 weeks and then we may officially begin opening those doors....or boxes... whatever
