Didn’t Lush Snow Fairy used to be affordable?!

Or have I imagined it??

Nearly £30 for a big bottle!

Shock
TheCrow · 05/10/2020 17:03

Was £20 for a bottle of the snow fairy body spray stuff last year as well 😕

AuntyPasta · 05/10/2020 17:13

It’s nearly £30 for a fuck-off huge bottle (1kg)

It’s £17 for a big bottle (500g)

Appuskidu · 05/10/2020 17:14

It’s crazy! It’s the only thing I buy in there (and I order online as I can’t bear the way their shop staff harass you) but that is obscene.

I paid £20 2 weeks ago

I've given up entirely with Lush. I loved their products but they've gotten far too expensive and I can't justify it on, what is literally, soap.

Fivemoreminutes1 · 05/10/2020 17:21

I prefer the Christmas shower gels from Philosophy. Last year they did Christmas cookie and this year it’s cinnamon buns.

omg same here. I remember it being far more affordable but now it's like paying £5 for a bath if you have one of the bathbombs. Some of their stuff is so nice and I'll treat myself to one or 2 bits now and again, but the shower gel prices are just mad considering you can get cruelty free and vegan products elsewhere for a fraction of the cost.
PinkSpring · 05/10/2020 17:28

It has gotten far more pricey than I remember from a few years ago. I would have picked up a bottle without much thought in previous years - but now it's more of a do I really want to spend that much on a shower gel?!

Appuskidu · 05/10/2020 17:30

Exactly-spending that much to literally throw it down the drain seems crazy!

When I buy the bubble bars/bombs, I break them up into pieces to make them more cost effective Grin

I got some as a Christmas treat for DD last year, and thought it was overpriced then

It's not hop I go to very often

Bumble84 · 05/10/2020 17:38

I boycotted lush after their undercover police campaign. Not a big deal as I rarely shopped there anyway but that one went a bit far for me.

WoobyWoo · 05/10/2020 17:40

Bumble84 Same here, the anti police stuff was the last straw for me.

TommyShelby · 05/10/2020 18:18

Ooooh yes @Fivemoreminutes1! The philosophy Christmas stuff is lovely and I’d completely forgotten about it until you said about it! Thank you!

TheChosenTwo · 05/10/2020 18:19

I have found it very expensive for what it is over the last 5 years or so. Or maybe I’ve just become wise to how much money I used to literally pour down the drain!!
I do still stock up there every few months but never ever on bath bombs, just their bubble bars as I seem to be able to get a few baths out of those (without making a horrific mess, I imagine breaking up a bath bomb would not be a tidy process Grin ).
Dd likes one of their body sprays, I always stick deodorants etc on the weekly shop but at £20 that goes in a Christmas stocking!

WellTidy · 05/10/2020 18:20

I love their Rose Jam shower gel (I use it as bath foam) but it is £10 for 250ml, which I think is a lot. I ask for it for Christmas as it is a real treat at that price. I love it though. We live in a hard water area so I have to be liberal with it to make bubbles!

Me too - plus it's overpriced and dd who loved the stuff usually reacted to the pink glittery shit that left the bath looking like a unicorn had self combusted in it!
ILoveGroot · 05/10/2020 18:46

You can buy snow fairy essential oil on Amazon, we've used it to make soap and it smells exactly like the lush ones, much cheaper too!

tsmainsqueeze · 05/10/2020 18:51

I went in recently for a gift and i was surprised at the prices , they have gone very expensive .
They cannot justify 4/5 pounds for a bath bomb .
I used to go in quite regularly with my daughter and treat her, not any more.
I stopped using body shop for a few reasons overpriced being one ,now get the same feelings about lush.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 05/10/2020 19:01

I buy the Snow Fairy Wand for my DD , she likes this for Christmas but I'd get a bit fed up smelling of it all the time .

How long does that last? Is it cheaper??

JinglesWish · 05/10/2020 19:05

Lush prices have become really expensive. A bath bomb was under £3.

I’ve bought Philosophy too this year. Snap @Fivemoreminutes1!! I’ve just got my Cinnamon Buns shower gel. The website sent me a £5 discount code if anyone wants it

ThousandsAreSailing · 05/10/2020 19:17

I boycotted it after their anti police, anti woman and the horrible one when they sent female employees out wearing only underwear and an apron and got people kissing them
And they allegedly treat their staff horribly, Hypocrites
And the stuff is full of chemicals, there are much better options now. The Yorkshire soap company is lovely

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 05/10/2020 19:18

I bloody loathed snow fairy but dd loved it, a little bottle was in her stocking every year.(even when she was grown up) then last year I said do you want that or proper perfume?
And of course as they don’t know what a woman is, that’s the last straw.

Whosthatgirlitsjess · 05/10/2020 19:56

I saw a YouTube video being advertised something like whats new in poundland and in the preview picture I saw they had loads of products that look exactly like lush stuff, has anyone tried them? I wonder how they compare at £1 rather than £17 or whatever.
