Or have I imagined it??

Nearly £30 for a big bottle!

How long does that last? Is it cheaper??

About 3-4 baths bit they don't have it on the website this year Xmas Sad

Audreyseyebrows · 05/10/2020 20:02

@JinglesWish please please please

torthecatlady · 05/10/2020 21:23

Dh always buys me a bottle of snow fairy each Christmas. I've still got last years in the cupboard, so I should probably open it before he buys another.

I did have the naked shower gel bar version one year, but it was a bit rubbish and I preferred the bottle.

I may suggest Philosophy though as there seem to be a few recommendations on here!

Lovemusic33 · 05/10/2020 21:32

I usually buy snow fairy and rose jam but prices have got crazy.

I have found something that smells similar at my local garden centre (gift shop) but it’s a sponge with soap in it), I can’t remember who makes them 🤔

Appuskidu · 05/10/2020 21:36

Several people have recommended philosophy-do any of their shower gels smell anything like Snow Fairy?

HelloDulling · 05/10/2020 21:41

I don’t think it’s much more that last year. Had always been an expensive treaty thing.

FourPlasticRings · 05/10/2020 21:42

@Bumble84

I boycotted lush after their undercover police campaign. Not a big deal as I rarely shopped there anyway but that one went a bit far for me.
Same here.
Toddlerteaplease · 05/10/2020 21:52

The bath bombs used to be a couple of quid. I used to love lush when I was a teenager. I don't remember thinking it was expensive then. I certainly do now!

allthingsred · 05/10/2020 22:46

Lush is sooo expensive. I don't know how they justify the prices.

user27378 · 05/10/2020 23:20

Christmas smells for me are Snow Fairy and Body Shop Satsuma. I think I'll just stick to the Body Shop Satsuma this year, and they have a new? Festive Berry shower gel I think I'll try instead of Snow Fairy. I think it's cranberry scented. £5.50 for a small bottle.

TheCrow · 05/10/2020 23:30

@Whosthatgirlitsjess I saw an article online about the poundshop ones, people said they were ok but the reason they get lush products is because they're natural ingredients and the poundshop ones were made of the same chemicals that you get in most of the gifty type stuff, it's just put in containers to look like lush stuff.

Kljnmw3459 · 05/10/2020 23:32

Its definitely too expensive except for an occasional treat.

AyDeeAitchDee · 06/10/2020 06:40

Agree with the price hike.

I bought a bath bomb recently.

Assumed it was £3-4

Imagine my surprise when it rang up at £7!!!!! For a bath bomb!

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 06/10/2020 08:35

I've got a woman nearby with a company called boddle bath who makes quirky bombs. You often get a wee pile for £12 or similar.

I don't feel like i'm getting ripped off as much so would rather give her the money.

XiCi · 06/10/2020 09:02

What does snow fairy smell like? I've never heard of it but lots of people seem to be mentioning it on the christmas threads this year

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 06/10/2020 09:16

I love snow fairy and have the oil someone mentioned. I usually buy a bottle of the shower gel and the bath bombs but it hasn’t gotten really expensive.

Even normal bath bombs are £6/7 each and I’m sure they used to be around £3 each as I used to buy multiple ones and now don’t. I’ve switched to the Bomb Cosmetic ones as cheaper and free delivery and usually an offer or free gift one.

TheCrow · 06/10/2020 13:01

@XiCi it's really sweet like candy floss, bubblegum type smell

GelisVanBorselen · 06/10/2020 13:08

@TheCrow, Lush products are definitely not natural! Snow Fairy uses sodium laureth sulfate, synthetic musk, 'perfume' which will contain a mix of artificial scents they don't have to declare individually, and artificial colourants among others. You can see on the listing that the natural ingredients are highlighted in green and the synthetics are written in black. The main natural ingredient is water. It's a majority synthetic product and arguably not better than anything in the Poundshop - they term the synthetics 'safe synthetics' (see the product listing, under the ingredients list) but actually only synthetics that are officially safe will get through a Cosmetic Safety Assessment - a process that everything in the Poundshop has also been through.

I don't like their use of the term 'safe synthetics' - I feel it's misleading advertising. It implies that synthetics in supermarket products are somehow less safe, though they abide by the same rules and have been through the same assessment process. Officially there are no 'unsafe' synthetics allowed in EU cosmetics - though periodically some substances are withdrawn from use and added to the 'banned' list.

I wonder whether this post will be allowed to stand.

BlueChampagne · 06/10/2020 13:32

torthecatlady sounds like you could ebay it!

LetsBounce · 06/10/2020 13:48

The poundshop dupes seem just the same. I say that as someone who hates the bloody stuff though, my children love it and I'll be making them a hamper out of the Poundshop stuff this year. I will save a fortune.

I've heard Lush aren't a nice company to work for, especially if you're a woman, so I'm glad to go elsewhere.

TheCrow · 06/10/2020 14:02

@GelisVanBorselen why would the post not be allowed to stand?

GelisVanBorselen · 06/10/2020 14:12

@TheCrow because I've said pretty clearly that I think Lush's advertising practices are probably breaching the relevant standards and should be regarded as misleading.

TheCrow · 06/10/2020 14:22

The thread is a discussion about how expensive their products are, no-one is advertising any of their products or have spread any misleading information? My earlier post was stating that people preferred lush because they believed they were made from natural ingredients but you've now corrected this misconception

catnoir1 · 06/10/2020 14:32

It's ridiculous how expensive it is. I can remember the smaller bottle of shower gel being around £9 and now it's over double the price if not more.

£7 odd a bath bomb that used to be £2.75.

I don't shop there anymore.
