Are Polly pockets a good gift for a 6-7 year old?

Or are they more suited to younger children?

Are they tiny or would one make a good Christmas gift ?

Depends on the child. Mine wouldn't be interested. Some other girls of a similar age I know would.

My daughters aged 5.5 amd 8 love their polly pockets, so I would say yes. It depends which one you buy as to what size they are- the ones that are around £5 are tiny, the £12 ones are the same as the 90s ones, the £20 ones make a more substantial gift and there are larger sets as well.

My daughter is 4 and I thought she was too young for them due to small parts being easily lost so I wouldn't have thought 6 was too old.

Yes I think it's a good gift for that age. My dd would have loved them at that age. She's ten and still likes them, but she's quite young for her age.

My dd is 14. The only toys we weren’t allowed to get rid of was Build a Bears and Polly Pocket.

Great at 6, 7, 8, and 9

My 5 year old loves Polly Pockets and has done for a year or two. My 7 year old will play with them a bit but isn’t that interested, but also wasn’t at 4 (and she’s always loved small world play) so it’s down to the individual child’s preferences I think...

ThatBitch · 05/10/2020 17:56

My dd loved them at 6,7,8. There are different sized sets from mini to quite large but still with the tiny dolls. The hotel was on amazon Black Friday last year for about £15.

My daughter has some of the new ones (gifts) she isn't interested in them. Personally, I think the new ones are rubbish, the figures seem to break really easily. My daughter has had some of the original ones in the past and she preferred them.

HidingFromDD · 05/10/2020 18:41

Get the original ones on eBay. Much better value and a 7 year old won’t care

HelpMeh · 05/10/2020 18:46

I think the new ones are wretched, but in my mid 30's I'd be delighted with a 90's choking hazard Grin.

Polly and her darn mates were never keen to stand in their holes though, so she spent most of her time with her face in the gutter.

Bubbleandboba · 05/10/2020 18:58

I loved polly pocket and I was a little bit older than your daughter

Rockbird · 06/10/2020 19:56

My 12yo still loves them and she's not especially young for her age. Her and my 8yo buy them with their pocket money.
