Ideas for a homemade advent calendar for my husband to be ❤️

Morning,
My husband to be has had a shit year, he was really unwell with Covid back in March and has really struggled with the after effects. I want to attempt to make him a Christmas advent calendar but need some inspiration please.
I’m thinking about his hobbies and things related to that but it’s not going to last 25 days. I’d like more personal ideas that I could either make or buy. I want it to look like I’ve made serious effort, so I need you please.

I think a traditional calendar would make it really difficult. You could cover a regular cardboard box in Christmas paper then put in 24 wrapped, numbered presents? Gifts like Christmas socks, Christmas mug, Christmas beer etc

One year for DH I did a basket decorated with tinsel and battery powered lights, which had 24 little jute bags with a number tag on them. I put in lots of little things, a couple of keyrings I saw he would like, mini tools, whisky and gin miniatures, some little jars of jam I knew he would like, some sweets, a little lego project, some batman rubber ducks I found, loads of odd bits and bobs. He loved it, and really enjoyed opening it every day. You can get the bags and number tags online, or hobbycraft often do them.

This is very simple but went down a treat with dh- I got a tin of quality street and picked out his favourite ones, and filled the reusable calendar with those. The rest just got mixed in with another tin as they’re usually half empty anyway. I got a couple of boxes of beanies flavoured coffee sachets so he could try different ones (the novelty wore off that quickly) and a a few scratch cards to liven it up.

It’s really tricky to find enough small things for men that they don’t have already.

I'm doing the same fir my 18 year old DS and it's tricky! So far apart from sweets etc I have:
Wallet ninja
Greggs/Costa voucher
Mini tools
Mini bottles of booze
Caramel syrup for coffee
Designer socks
Power bank

Now I'm stuck!

a few years ago I bought my OH 25 pairs of socks and 25 bottles of beer. Put beer in one sock, then drop that into second sock. Tie with a numbered label.

I’m doing myself an alcohol advent calendar with a different miniature or can every day.

A few years ago I did one which had a chocolate every day and a piece of paper with something I love about DP written on it each day too. Simple, not expensive to make but meaningful. He still has all the little pieces of paper! Maybe a bit more simple than you were looking for though

I made my dh a scratch card advent calendar last year, that went down well.

For our first Christmas together I made DH an advent calendar.

It was a basket with 24 A5 envelopes in it and the numbers written on the front.

Some envelopes had bags of jelly sweets (his favourite)

Some had an activity for us to do:
Winter walk along the beach
Christmas movie day with popcorn
Lunch at his favourite cafe

Some had homemade vouchers in:
I'd cook whatever he wanted for dinner
A day of uninterrupted football & FIFA without a word from me!
A takeaway and film of his choice

I've not done it since, but he often mentions it and it was 6 years ago now
