Drawstring gift bags like the ones Amazon use

Does anyone know where I could find some. I have some large awkward gifts to wrap and have looked on Amazon itself but they are all quite small, one of the gifts is a coffee maker so I was hoping to pop it in a Christmassy drawstring bag rather than wrapping it in sheets of paper.

I tried Etsy but they are like gym bags and not the large enough, I wonder if I could buy fabric and make some, although I am not that creative.

B&M and Home Bargains do huge Christmas gift bags really cheaply

Did anyone else hesitate before clicking on the Bigger Jugs site?

Rectangular drawstring bags are one of the easiest things I do on my sewing machine. If you have a sewing machine, get some fabric and have a try.

The fabric needs to be a few inches wider and taller than twice as large as you want the bag to be. You also need a ribbon a bit longer again than the width of the fabric. Then:

  1. Fold the top edge down about 1.5 inches, wrong sides together.
  2. Sew close to the bottom of the folded over fabric. This will be your ribbon channel
  3. Fold fabric in half to get the bag you want, inside out (ie good sides of the fabric together)
  4. Start just below the ribbon channel and sew down the edge and across the bottom of the bag
  5. Turn right way around. Ideally iron at this point (sometimes I CBA)
  6. Tie ribbon to something small and push that something through the ribbon channel, pulling the ribbon with it. I use a clean nut (as in nut and bolt). This is the fiddly bit
  7. Tie ends of ribbon together
  8. Put present inside
