Anyone got a Maxi micro scooter - 6yo?

Looking for replacement for DD’s mini micro scooter (now outgrown). Want to stick with micro scooter - so looking at either maxi micro 3 wheeler or the micro sprite 2 wheeler.

Am leaning towards the 3 wheeler as she’s much more confident on it than the 2 wheeler, but questioning the longevity of it. Its for age 5-12 but have never seen a child on a maxi micro irl, they all seem to be on 2 wheelers. Will it be deemed babyish by her peers? Is it as good as the mini micro?

Any advice welcomed. Thanks

My almost 8 year old has one. She’s had it since she was 6. Pretty much all the kids in her junior school have the 3 wheeled scooters.

We have a few kids locally with the 3 wheeler including my nephew age 9 who is quite tall. It's quite an expensive scooter and a lot of 2 wheelers cost less. I suspect that's likely why there are less kids with it.

We have both micros here. The three wheeler is better all round particularly on less even surfaces. The two wheeler’s wheels are very small and it is suitable only for very level footpaths. I really dislike seeing DC on it as it’s an accident waiting to happen. However one DC was determined to have it and no amount of persuasion to get the three wheeler worked.
That said we also have the three wheeler which is even sturdier than the mini micro but it is rarely used anymore by DC1 who is in year 3. I can’t even imagine a 10-12 yr old wanting to ride it tbh. DC1 only wants to ride a bike now.

PS just saw PP’s comment about price. As far as I remember the three and two wheelers cost approx the same - the two wheeler might have been slightly more expensive because it has wheel lights.

Unless she is going to be keen on doing stunts/ going to the skate park on it then 3 wheel maxi micro is fine ime.

Around here, once secondary school age scooters are not cool so it only needs to last till age 10 really!

DS3 had the maxi and got made fun of in year three for having a 'baby scooter' Hmm everyone else had two wheelers.
He refused to take it to school and asked for a two wheel one for his birthday.

Loads of kids have the maxi round here. DD is in upper KS2 and a lot of the class still ride them. Those that have two wheelers tend to have the stunt scooters.

My dc both got the Sprite for their 5th birthdays. It's a fab scooter and much faster than the 3 wheeled scooters. It would be really unusual for a kid of that age to have a 3 wheeled scooter round here, and dc definitely see 3 wheeled scooters as for younger kids.

We bought my 6 year old the sprite in the hope we don’t have to buy another scooter again and bonus of it folding easily and he can store it like this. He would have been happy with 3 wheeler but potentially would have wanted a 2 wheeler at some point in the future. He took no time at all to adjust!

We bought the Sprite when DS was 5. It take a little bit of getting to used to, but he mastered it pretty quickly (and he’s not the most balanced child). We bought it with longevity in mind, but he is now approaching 8 and will always pick his bike over the scooter. We took it to the skate park in the summer, but it’s not ideal for that either, as the collapsible sun toon and long base board make it unsafe for jumps.

In hindsight, I would have probably bought the Maxi and just accepted it was only going to be for a year or two.

My DD enjoyed her Maxi until 11.
They sell as secondhand for a good price too.
I'd go for the 3 wheels.
