Aged about four I got a toy washing machine that took real water and span etc and some cotton hankies to wash in it and I loved it.

And aged about 12 I got a wonderful too old for me box of v posh make up that I adored.

I remember the year we got a Nintendo Wii! I don't know how my mum managed to get it the year it came out.. me and my sister were so excited. :)

Scoobidoo · 20/09/2020 09:55

Cabbage Patch doll. I still have her.

JinglesWish · 20/09/2020 09:55

Similar to you, my mum bought me the big make up box from Estée Lauder that was sold at Debenhams around Christmas time. I was 14 and thought I was so grown up 😆

My worst was Mr Frosty when I was about 6. What a total waste!! Plastic can’t crunch real ice and it wasn’t anything like the ad 😂

JinglesWish · 20/09/2020 09:58

@micc I remember buying DH the wii when it first came out for Christmas 2006. I went to the Game store every morning for a week until the manager eventually told me to come back the next morning and he’d have one for me, took persistence and a smile 😂

BabyLlamaZen · 20/09/2020 10:00

My cat when I was 10 😁

formerbabe · 20/09/2020 10:04

Abendintheriver · 20/09/2020 10:06

Sylvanian family caravan. It came with a silver horse to pull it. I loved that thing so much!

Sindy bedroom furniture!

penpotted · 20/09/2020 10:11

A dolls house that my parents had made for me. My dad had built the frame from wood and my mum had decorated it using real carpet and wallpaper off cuts. It was amazing!

My Little Pony salon with loads of tiny little accessories

VickySunshine · 20/09/2020 10:21

My pony Snowie. He's over 30 now but he's still quite active.

PeartreeProductions · 20/09/2020 10:23

A Popple, wanted the My little Pony Nursery but it was never gonna happen, not that I'm still bitter or anything Grin

CloudyVanilla · 20/09/2020 10:28

I was little when Barbie and the Nutcracker came out and I got a beautiful pink horse, Marzipan. I was so excited!

I was also incredibly excited on 2 separate years to get two big History encyclopedias, I loved them so much and I still have them today. Other hits were a Polaroid camera and a Cinderella doll.

Makes me think that piles of presents aren't worth it, there are so many things I know I don't remember

formerbabe · 20/09/2020 10:29

I got a dressing table set with a mirror, hairbrush, various hand creams, bubble bath and things in little pots...I loved it.

sqirrelfriends · 20/09/2020 10:39

A Skydancer, I loved it.

Lovely thread!! Just thinking about it has brought back some happy memories.

I have three separate ones tho 🤔

My earliest was a full size Sindy house, 3 or 4 stories high with a lift on the side...it was the year my sister was born so I was 6, I remember after taking some other presents to my room coming back down and looking at it again and there being lots of sindy clothes put in one of the rooms and believing that Santa had been back to deliver them whilst I left the room 😂

I remember the year I got my talking Alf teddy, I loved the show. It had a tape player in its back so it could talk and I realised it could play any tape I had so my Alf would be singing my take that tapes.

And very fond memories of the year I got my boom box as we called it, just a double tape player but it looked very fancy and had the roxette joyride tape to go with it. Would have been 11 or 12 I think. I remember my dad listening to the tape with me and saying what a good album I chose, Made me feel very proud lol.

Pretty Cut & Grow.

It was one of the few times that I got exactly what I’d asked for and not some cheap doll, or something my dad convinced me I wanted after he’d been shopping and picked something he liked.

I was so proud to bring her to school and show her off. It was one of the rare occasions when I got to be one of the kids who “have” instead of the “have nots”

amusedtodeath1 · 20/09/2020 11:25

I also had that house, Sunday I think it was, I loved that thing, they sell for quite a bit now on eBay, iirc.

Apart from the house, one year I got the Sinday buggy complete with camping gear and horse box. Hours of fun.

My favourite by far though was a tiny bottle of perfume by grandma sent me from Ireland one year, it had beautiful metal work on a glass bottle and a jade stone on the top, angels or cherubs I think. It was my most treasured possession for years. Don't know what happened to it.Sad

amusedtodeath1 · 20/09/2020 11:26

Sindy, bloomin auto correct!

Cherryrainbow · 20/09/2020 11:32

One of those pink electronic secret diaries. I loved it! I remember the horoscope feature on it and stuff like that. Used it for years x

ellieboulou33 · 20/09/2020 11:39

Mr Frosty

FrancisCross · 20/09/2020 13:10

A La Carte Kitchen! I was so happy!

Graffitiqueen · 20/09/2020 13:11

Ice skates. So exciting.

Martinisarebetterdirty · 20/09/2020 16:44

I got a my little pony Majesty’s castle - it was amazing. One year I got the Sindy house mentioned above - it was second hand and my mum bought it from a family friend, but that meant it was fully furnished and I got the beach buggy! My Grandmother also knitted me loads of clothes for my Sindy dolls - that Christmas was amazing!
