What booze do you top up your Christmas cake with?

I just made cakes with equal amounts of rum, brandy, cherry brandy and port. The last few times I have made this I have only doused it with brandy once a week. Can I instead use a mixture of the above? After all, this is what is in the recipe.

I am trying to get rid of the leftover bits of booze in my cupboard.

I normally use amaretto

Yes I normally feed our christmas cake weekly with a mixed blend of all above. Never had any problems or complaints!

I think you need to mark out the cake and use a different one in each part. (Add one for Amaretto too).

Then when it comes to eating you will never know which 'flavour' you are getting until you taste it.

I haven't made a Christmas cake for years but really fancy making one this year. I was intending to get some rum or brandy. I am not a whisky fan. I do have Amaretto and Port in though so could use those.

Brandy

I’ve used port and Cointreau before now which works well. Don’t give to small children though Grin
