Ideas for 6 year old boy, birthday 3 days before Xmas

Can anyone give me any ideas as to what they are getting for their 6 year olds - or what they’ve recently liked?

My youngest DS is very tricky to buy for! And has his birthday right before Xmas.

He’s just getting into Lego so will get him a set and probably some pens and pencils for drawing or a little art set ( he likes the little minecraft sets). He does like reading - unlike his brother so I’m not really that up to speed on good book sets.

Most of his closest friends are girls - last year all he wanted as presents was hatchimals! Very into drama. Also loves colourful things and not into say dinosaurs or pirates or boys themed stuff ( am not saying I agree with the ‘boy’ theming but it is quite prevalent!).

If anyone has any ideas of things they have bought I’d be most grateful. He is so different to his older brother ( who was into football, Lego, everything blue - I really hate to say it but a stereotypical ‘boy’ in marketing terms).

He has his brother’s old bike and scooter and zero interest in getting a new one that’s just his.

Both my dds absolutely loved a magic around that age - it was made by Melissa and Doug I think. It still gets used now several years later.

Fingerlings are quite popular with my two - much to my surprise as I expected them to be a 5 minute wonder.

Would your ds like something crafty like aqua beads or blo pens?

Re books - dd2 is 7 and has recently loved both Dogman and The Bad Guys. Both are cartoon style and pretty easy to read, and are funny (though heavy on toilet/farting jokes).

V Tech camera. My DD was 6 just before Christmas last year and she loves this. It is good for boys or girls I think.

My DS (6) likes books and is enjoying Dogman and the Captain Underpants books. They are comic like and funny. He also enjoyed the Horrid Henry books.
He has an Amazon fire tablet and finds that easy to use. He likes Minecraft and got a lego set last year.
He likes remote control things and got a car that goes up the walls last year - can't remember the name of it.
He got matching cosy pjs, socks and underwear and loved those. He also liked bath bombs and a fleecy character blanket.

Thank you everyone! Some great ideas - he loves taking photos on my iPad so that’s definitely a good one and am sure he’d like a magic set.

Will check out the book recs too

( he has fingerlings Grin)

Agree with a PP that an Amazon Fire might be a good option - if he likes reading you can download books on it for him.
