DD is 3.7 and desperately wants a Barbie camper van. Hoping she goes off the idea / can be persuaded off it by Christmas as its a lot of money for what it is! I want to get her a toy kitchen. I've already got the set of Dr Who Mr Men books in my Amazon basket ready to buy closer to the date. If you come across anything amazing post it here please!

Hi @BabyMoonPie ! Would she compromise for the Barbie Chelsea one as that's a lot cheaper and smaller for her hands?

Dd (2 and a half by Christmas) wants something horse related so I'm thinking of making a Haba Little Friends horse bundle for her. A couple of the little dolls, the stables, a couple of horses, some accessories and a stable cat.

I've already got her "The Balcony" which is a lovely mostly wordless book by Melissa Castrillon (currently reduced on Amazon), I'll get her a few more picture books plus both her and ds get a "nice" edition of a classic book for when they're older.

Then a few more Schleich animals/dinosaurs for the collection plus a playmat (which I may make) and some wooden play food for the play house/kitchen. She was eyeing up the Small Foot sundaes in a shop window at the weekend so maybe them.

Ds got into proper Playmobil at 3.5. Although 2 years later we have a house full and he goes to bed with the catalogue so maybe that's best avoided.

@Bumblebeewine - thanks for the tip - I'll have a look. She likes Busy Books at the moment so I had wondered about playmobil. Some of the playmobil sets look great fun and I'm a fan of toys I want to play with too!

At 3.5, we started on Lego Juniors. It's the 'proper' Lego as opposed to the Duplo size, but it's simplified sets.

For slightly younger toddlers... Little Tikes car.

They are awesome. Ds already had loads when dd was born so I think 3 is probably a good age to get into it. If you register with the birthday club on the playmobil website they send you a voucher for 20 percent off your first order plus a birthday card/Christmas card every year. Mine love that "their toys send a card". All ds (5) wants this year is a playmobil castle so that's basically what he's getting with a few appropriate accessories thrown in (some of which may be things I want too). Throughout lockdown I'd set up various scenarios for them to find, pool parties, Scooby doo mysteries, criminal enterprises etc and they loved it. I think they are the most used toys in our house, they go in the bath, to the beach and in the garden as well as infest the house.

The GALT giant floor puzzle jigsaws are great for this age too.

My daughter is getting pretty much all DeAO toys. Then jigsaws as she’s now in to 60 piece ones and lacing beads. She’ll be three and a half.
