Holiday/christmas collector barbies

Heya I was wondering what your thoughts are on the holiday collector barbies? Have you ever bought any?

There was a lady on a youtube "what I bought my kids for xmas" videos who has invested in one every year since her daughter was born and I thought it was a nice idea.

I didnt know whether to maybe at least get one from the year she is born which will be the 2020 doll and even if I dont get any more, keep it to give it to her in future or something. I wouldn't even mind if she wanted to take it out the box lol. What do you think? X

I think buying a Barbie every year that a child can't play with but you are going to give her when she's an adult is a burden. Buying one from the year she was born is nice.

Collectible Barbies sounds like one of those things that people think will be worth something but when it comes to it it isn't at all. Like Readers Digest collectible plates.

One of my friends collected a dinner service for her son. When he was 18 he had no interest in a dinner service his mother had put together over 2 decades. He wanted plates from IKEA like everyone else.

I wouldn't hold on until shes adult tbh, more like wait until shes 4 or whenever they get into dolls and be all ta da fancy barbie, enjoy playing lol. You're right that investing every year could be an expensive flop x
