My DS will be 13 months this Christmas. Any ideas of what I could buy him? I was thinking of one of those push along trikes but I’m not sure really.

Any fab presents your little ones loved? Thanks Smile

Push along trike is a great idea. Books with flaps, I'd recommend the acorn wood bookset. Toot toot cars. Stacking blocks. My son also loves this cheap dinosaur we got from Wilko that repeats what you say when you press a button.

Little People toys!

DD2 is 9 and still plays with hers on the sly. She's had them from being a baby and some were hand me downs from DD1. Her cousin (also 9) was round at the weekend and they spent ages making towns and playing with them. They were really well played with when my DC were toddlers.

This year from 1-2 my grandson haS loved Lanka kade animals (they’re fair trade and lovely to stack and learn animal names and noises with)... ball pit balls in a pop up tent... simple two or four piece jigsaws...wooden peg jigsaws and bath toys.

Little tikes Cozy Car was a huge hit with my DS and he also loved the little tikes push lawnmower.

Christmas and Birthday are 6 weeks apart for DC1 but big hits for around about a year old were:

  • little tikes my first slide
  • cosy coupe with trailer
  • toot toot cars
  • leapfrog tea set
17caterpillars1mouse · 17/08/2020 15:25

Definitely a cosy coupe car

Stroller and doll are always a big hit too. You can get a blue one from John Lewis

I'm a big fan of indigo jamm toys

A first sticker book as a small gift

Lanka kade vechiles

Lift the flap books are a great hit with toddlers generally

Bath toys

Playdough

My DS will be 14 months at Christmas and I'm building a list of possibilities. It includes:

  • a ride on toy
  • a track for his toot toot cars (to grow into)
  • a pull along toy (a turtle with a xylophone on its back from asda)
  • a ball/car ramp
  • bath toys
  • happyland farm and London bus (to grow into)
  • building blocks, possibly in a trundle truck but not sure
  • lift the flap books
  • a little life backpack and reins
  • a personalised dressing gown
  • chocolate buttons

My view is that since he's an October baby I want things that he will grow into over the year and that will hopefully last the preschool years, rather than 5 minute wonders. I'm also hoping to guide family a little bit, since last year we ended up with 3 singing dogs!

All excellent suggestions so far, I shall just add a ball popper! By far my daughters favourite first birthday present. We have the Bright Starts whale one, would definitely recommend.
