Hi. I’m just about to book for Finnish Lapland this December and having a Covid wobble re cancellation and being able to get money back! Currently Finland are insisting on 14 day quarantine for U.K. visitors which obv makes a 3 night stay unworkable! The travel company are saying they expect this to be lifted in next few weeks and certainly by winter season but obv they’re going to be telling me this!! Has anyone booked and if so, which insurance have you gone for?

I went to Lapland Rovaneimi (sp?) last Christmas and it was wonderful. However, it is an expensive three or four days and part of the expense was buying the thermals and extra bits and bobs we needed. If a holiday was cancelled you wouldn’t get the money back for these sorts of things which, in the case of clothing, children outgrow pretty quickly.

In your position I would not be booking it yet. I think I would leave booking until much later in the year or even leave it for next year. It’s such an exciting thing to do but the disappointment of having it cancelled would feel (for me) worse than an ordinary holiday being cancelled.
