Am assuming this will be out before Xmas and was just wondering what sort of price it is likely to be? Do you need to pre order them?

The rumour I've heard is £449 for the regular version, maybe a bit less for the digital-only one.

Does digital only mean that you can only buy the games online I presume? I wonder how the pricing works for the digital games, are they cheaper? I think at the moment DS always buy the actual disc.

Im sure i paid about 450 when ps4 came out so would expect the same. My partner buys games online now with ps4 and seems to save money as he upgrades games he already has and doesnt buy games just to try them.

Digital means that you have to download the games only (can't use disks)
One of the features of PS5 is backwards compatibility so playing older games is a popular feature to have

I think they’ll be around £500 including one game. I’d suggest pre ordering as I think they’ll be even more in demand this time around due to lockdown.

nevermorelenore · 30/07/2020 13:09

Whenever I've bought newly released consoles, I've not had much change out of £500 once you buy an extra controller plus a game or two. If you are budgeting, that's probably the amount to put aside.

Some shops like Game do preorder bundles. I can imagine they'll be hard to get hold of, so definitely one to order in advance.

Cherryrainbow · 30/07/2020 16:25

Youd be looking at 4-500 for the console then at a guess 50 for a game.

We currently have a ps4 for the family and my partner has an online account he buys games on, it usually works out cheaper in long run plus with certain accounts you can download at least 2 selected free games a month. My boyf is excited cos he knows next month one of the free games is a modern warfare one.

They're not cheaper and it stops you being able to purchase second hand games. Ours was a waste of time in my opinion

My OH has always had Playstations, but waits a year as they drop quite quickly in price.

He wouldn't get digital only. You can still download games on the normal one, bit at least you have the choice.
