Hello all! Not long now 🙈🎄

I'm looking for gift ideas for a 6 year old girl. I'm genuinely stumped. She has a bike and a scooter.

Any help and ideas very gratefully received!

Obvious question - what does she enjoy and do ?

Jonsnowscodpiece · 14/07/2020 12:45

Are you looking for big things or little things? Price range? DD had her 6th birthday yesterday

3cats · 14/07/2020 12:49

Is she your daughter? I agree, we need to know your budget.

Can't you just ask her what she wants?

LetsPlayBamboozled · 14/07/2020 13:13

I'm in the same boat. DD will be 6 in October and I'd like to get sorted for that and Christmas now but suspect she will ask for things nearer the time..

Mine likes LOL dolls and is after a large one though it is so much money for a doll. Think she'd like Barbie's wardrobe and some clothes.

She's started to enjoy Hama beads, Aquabeads and Lego. Her dexterity has clearly come on so I think she's better at picking the little bits up than 6 months ago. I gave her a Cinderlla castle last week and she built it herself (it's from the learning to build range).

She would also like pop up books. Amazon has some fairy tale ones.

And coloured air dry clay as she's quite crafty.

I know she'd like all of this but none of it has the wow factor for me so looking out for something a bit more exciting..

Hama beads
Usbourne sticker books
Fluffy dressing gown
Bath bombs
Science kit
Ant farm
Kite
Board game (frustration, guess who)

My 6yo DD wants Disney Lego sets

sonicbook · 14/07/2020 13:48

Thanks so much for these replies! Sorry yes she's my daughter.

I don't want to spend too much but I guess overall it will be 150 or so?

I have asked her and she said she wanted a magic perfume that turns people into fairies and a car. A real one. 🙈

She does really want an electric kids car but I don't have the budget or the space for one! 😃

Never heard of these beads! Off to google.

Yes totally agree re LOL dolls! She loves them but it's not a habit I can afford to nurture!

Been trying to put her off them a bit tbh.

@bookmum08 it's a great question but weirdly difficult to answer. She loves fashion and all things girly. Not big into books although I am trying to encourage her more in that area.

@Jonsnowscodpiece aww happy birthday to her!

Lego friends
My Fairy Garden
Insect Lore butterfly garden
Galt rainbow lab
Lockable secret diary
Top from Selfie Clothing Co

sonicbook · 14/07/2020 13:58

Thanks goodness I think I'm on the right track.

Have ordered a Lego friends thing
The Galt rainbow thing
And she got the garden thing last Christmas and we did it this summer

What Hama beads are best to buy?

Our Generation Dolls (or the Argos version Design a Friend who I personally think are a bit nicer looking)
Lego. The Friends range is good for fashion lovers. I just bought myself the Emma's Dress Shop in this theme and don't forget the Friends sets are fully compatible with all other Lego themes.
Art books - design your own fashion type ones.
As for books.... Rainbow Fairies are popular at that age (incredibly dull for parents).

sonicbook · 14/07/2020 14:03

Thank you! 😃

This is the latest Friends set I bought (for me - I am big fan)

Someone suggested lego dots to me on another thread I had never heard of them but ordered some for my 6 year old

sonicbook · 14/07/2020 14:10

@bookmum08 I ordered the clamping one yesterday because it was on sale in Argos . That one looks great too!

bookmum08 · 14/07/2020 14:10

Ooh yes. Lego Dots are fairly new. They are brilliant.

Jonsnowscodpiece · 14/07/2020 14:21

Thanks Smile
Things that have gone down well are;

Mr Frosty although a bit trick to use
Fuzzikins
Lego set
Play doh set
Fab lab hair lights
Drafts
The Usborne 'look inside' books
Those spot the sloth/poo/santa whatever books, useful for a bit of peace and quiet!
You can get a fairly cheap kids camera from amazon with loads of filters and a few games, that's been a really good purchase.

Bigger toys were a marble track and something from a company called Tech Will Save Us

LetsPlayBamboozled · 14/07/2020 14:24

Hama beads - dd has the Halloween set as she loves Halloween for some reason! I am thinking of the mermaids one next.

sonicbook · 14/07/2020 15:28

Thanks so much all. I've made a decent dent in it!
