Me and DD (11) are....Just got it booked thanks to seeing your thread :)
I'm taking her on a trip to London for her birthday present (Birthday is in July)
So we arrive early morning 16th December, Afternoon tea somewhere nice (Still looking if anyone has any ideas), Matinee performance of Wicked then off to Kew at Christmas.

I am excited :) Thanks for starting this thread @Piccalino3

I went for the first time 2 years ago. It was fabulous. Book dinner in the Botanicals if you can xx

FilthyforFirth · 28/06/2020 11:22

Me!!!! I booked it the minute I was emailed about it. Thrilleed to have something to look forward. I am due at the end of Nov so have booked for close to Christmas as possible!

Went last year for the first time and loved it. Hope more things come up. It has been a horrible year with nothing to look forward to...

We went the first year it opened , from what I can see they have increased the number of lights a million % .
It was tipping down (which isn't anyones fault but doesn't enhamce things )
We didn't go into the Palm Greenhouse (dont know if you do now ) and there wasn't the arches walkway with the thousands of white lights like in the photo .

Enjoy it , I love Kew , loved the walk from the station having a nose at everyones bay windows and trees too Xmas Grin

I'd love to go, but only if it was a coach excursion. I can't be faffed to get the train from Brighton, and we don't have a car.

CeibaTree · 01/07/2020 20:17

We've just booked to go on the solstice. It'll be our 4th year going :)

BaconAndAvocado · 03/07/2020 15:06

I would love to do this!

I went years ago though not at Christmas.

Is there any parking?

If not, is it near to a tube or overground station?

WreckTangled · 03/07/2020 15:56

Me me me! I can't wait. Every year I wish I had done it and this year I finally did. I booked parking on someone's drive over the road.

CannonCaboodle · 03/07/2020 15:57

Someone has to explain this please. What is at Kew at Christmas?

gettingusedtothelimelight · 03/07/2020 16:02

@sueelleker

Leonardslee just outside Horsham and Wakehurst both do it and are closer to you.

BaconAndAvocado · 04/07/2020 10:19

WreckTangled'which website did you use for the parking please?

WreckTangled · 04/07/2020 10:22

I used just park. If you haven't used it before I can refer you and you'll get £10 credit but if you think that's weird then no worries Grin

Titsywoo · 04/07/2020 10:25

Yes I've booked with the parking. Went last year and loved it. The only thing with the parking is you don't get to enter at the start you go in half way around. That was fine with us as it was really quiet when we came in and got busier later on in the walk. However the big finale on the lake was not the end for us! I hope it doesn't end up getting cancelled if they can't socially distance (if that is still going on in Dec!).

Titsywoo · 04/07/2020 10:26

@CannonCaboodle it's a walk around Kew Gardens with a series of Xmas light installations. Really well done.

VanillaSpiceCandle · 20/07/2020 14:27

I’ve never heard of Christmas at Kew! Usually I have a London shopping day in December. I’m wondering now though if it would be better to drive and just do Kew as it would be a nightmare to park near Oxford/Regents Street.

Would be a shame not to go Christmas shopping but because of the way tickets are sold with parking or for public transport it seems I’d need to decide now? Is anyone travelling by train and then tube?

EleanorElena · 05/12/2020 23:13

I realise is a long shot but I have tickets for 2 adults and 2 children for 4th Jan and would love to swap them for an earlier Dec date... just thoughts I’d ask here in case anyone has tickets for December but can’t make it now?? If we can’t swap then we’ll just stick with the 4th.

We’ve been for the past 2 years and I agree with others, it’s fantastic!

Hi @WreckTangled is your parking referral still valid please?
