Yes that's it! Thank you @RubySlippers77 and Someaddedsugar. Will be getting lots from there - so many stockings to crack on with. Yes, I bought masses of stuff from Dr. Botanicals too - we're all still trying to use it up and I've noticed in recent weeks that I'm getting marketing e-mails from them whereas I didn't before. Surely a sign to start the Christmas shopping!

LazyDaisy10 · 28/06/2020 08:36

I got soaps from gruum last year, they did some great deals I got from this thread.
Dr botanicals are doing 70% off with promo code june70

Someaddedsugar · 28/06/2020 09:08

@PowerslidePanda I thought it would be perfect for Christmas Eve to keep our toddler entertained!

Bluewavescrashing · 28/06/2020 12:49

I have just ordered a Dr Botanical skin care set worth 39.99 and a separate boxed hand cream for £17.99 Inc delivery. The gift set looks really nice. Prices are weird on there, eg soaps for £20 each. But with a discount code bargains can be found.

sorryiasked · 28/06/2020 15:10

I got some nice bits from HEMA - with checking their normal stuff as well as the outlet pages.

woodwaj · 28/06/2020 16:43

anyone need a 6ft giraffe to go with the unicorn?

Serenity25 · 28/06/2020 17:34

I also got quite a few bits from gruum last year, I really liked the shampoo bars. They did some good offers in the run up to Christmas.

Paperchase have 20% off everything with code GOOD20, excludes sale items though.

woodwaj · 28/06/2020 19:35

Hype are doing the 2 bags for 19.99 lucky dip again!

Restlessinthenorth · 28/06/2020 19:43

Huge thanks for the Tex tip. I've order loads of stocking fillers...I'm really excited for the parcel to arrive!

Someaddedsugar · 28/06/2020 19:59

Does anyone have any ideas of something I can get for DS's keyworker at nursery? She has been absolutely amazing. For Christmas last year we got her handcream (a bargain found thanks to this thread last year!) and a Thermos mug as she was saying her coffee goes cold really quickly at work (I've seen her using it when I've picked DS up so it's definitely used!).

DS is due to move rooms in October but given the current guidance I'm assuming that might not happen, and if it does then said gift would be a thank you gift when he does move rooms instead.

sorryiasked · 28/06/2020 20:27

Amazon deals has some bees wax wraps for £6.36 instead if 12.99, I know these have been popular in previous threads.

@Restlessinthenorth Oh what is that? I must have missed it... tex?

GarlicSoup · 29/06/2020 03:49

It’s Rex London @Raindancer411

Raindancer411 · 29/06/2020 03:58

Awww now I know, thanks. We use that for the PTA.

Restlessinthenorth · 29/06/2020 04:37

@Raindancer411 apologies for my autocorrect! I did indeed mean Rex, not Tex!

Raindancer411 · 29/06/2020 08:19

@Restlessinthenorth oh my fone does it to me all the time too, so don't worry!!

Shantotto · 29/06/2020 09:20

Is the stuff from dr botanicals any good? The prices seem a bit mad - moisturers and eye creams going for almost £150 bit they don’t seem what I’d call high end. Not that I could ever afford to buy anything I would call high end! Do you know what I mean? I love soap and it does reduce it to about £6 a bar not £20 but it feels like a place that charges high and only sells with huge reductions. Kind of like gap does these days!

PinkDaydreams · 29/06/2020 10:00

@Shantotto I completely agree! I’ve thought that in the past about dr botanicals, and then had a nosey yesterday and thought I’m not buying anything because they’ve hiked everything up so much in price to compensate for the many different discount codes that are regularly floating round. I’m sure it’s lovely stuff but I’d be buying just for the sake of it and because it’s a “bargain” Hmm
I’m not being a moany Scrooge by the way, it just frustrates me when companies bump up the price then offer codes to bring it back to a normal price.

Reastie · 29/06/2020 15:51

Hello all!!

How are you all? Hope I haven’t missed too much, things pretty hectic with returning from maternity leave consisting of WFH (don’t usually) whilst homeschooling dd and having a baby to look after. Bit stressful!

Things are likely to be tighter than usual this Christmas for us, so I’m already picking up free things people are offering locally where I can and stashing them for stocking bits for the dc. Went into the loft yesterday to check my Christmas stash from January sales bargains and luckily I have a good selection. I haven’t been in an actual shop since early March and it turns out I don’t really miss them and have saved a fortune! Nothing like a lockdown as pandemic to make you realise priorities.

Think this Christmas is going to be financially hard for so many people (as well as logistically with the virus) and I’m glad to have you all here to make it easier.

Btw re dr botanicals, I’ve still got about 8 of their soaps left that we are going through very slowly (but increased hand washing is helping that!).

workingfortheclampdown · 29/06/2020 17:23

@recklessgran, Was it gruum? I think I paid half what they're on offer for now so might be worth holding out for a discount, they last ages though. My first bar is still going after three months and I have long hair!

Courtney555 · 29/06/2020 17:28

@Reastie Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay, hello!!! It feels like Christmas now Grin

recklessgran · 29/06/2020 17:31

Actually yes @workingfortheclampdown that rings a bell. DD4 travelling again so thought it might be good for her. She's also big on the environment too and doesn't like anything plastic if she can avoid it. Have made a note in my little book and will check periodically for a deal. Thanks very much all for the help.

Bluewavescrashing · 29/06/2020 18:16

Gruum shampoo bars are the best IMHO. I've tried a few including soul and Soap (2nd favourite) and friendly soap company which left a waxy residue. I recently had a £10 off voucher for Gruum which stacked with another offer, both now expired unfortunately. I got 8 shampoo bars, a nice gift set and a couple of wash bars for about £15.

WellTidy · 29/06/2020 18:31
